    MEP-803a weeping fuel

I'm 99% sure its not your head gasket if its fuel you're seeing. It's more than likely the return lines on the injectors. They are prone to fail and leak fuel down the back and side of the head.

    MEP-803a low fuel shutoff ?

Yes that is correct. If the low fuel shutoff circuit is activated, you can not do anything from the main panel. It will not even run the fuel pump in the prime and run position.

Mep002a trouble starting runs good need help

Make sure when you are starting it, to hold the start switch until the unit is going. I think after you got it started, you let off the start and that's when it died.

    Mep803a oil pressure sensor issue?

Most military generators have the starter lock out. This feature on some units will also re-flash the field, if you hit the start switch after the unit is up and going.

MEP 002A Unstable Voltage Then No Voltage

Have you tested T2 transformer? Also make sure your grounds are good.

What is the AMP rating of CB1 (3phase breaker) on MEP002A generator?

The main breaker for the mep-002a and 003a are the same. They are both 100amp breakers but do not think of these breakers as a household breaker. They measure amperage through the CVT1 transformer and if the amperage is to high the breaker will throw. Then it also measure current that flows...

MEP 002A Unstable Voltage Then No Voltage

Since you replaced the distribution dox with a known good one, then its for sure not the problem. It could be the VR board or the T2 transformer that is next to the VR board. The TM will tell you how to test the T2 transformer (its paragraph 4-38 in TM5-6115-585-12). But unfortunately most of us...

Picked up 6 MEP-802A gensets and will be documenting making them all runners here

I agree, if you try to use them don't except longevity out of the motor. You need smooth surfaces for the moving parts.

    MEP-803A. ....60hertz?.

Be careful Blackbear because running just about anything under 50 hertz will damage it. Especially electronics will be damaged running under 55 hertz.

    Mep-003a

If you have the 802a don't use acid, it may eat through the plastic fuel tank. The comments from earlier post are for the 003a which has a metal fuel tank that rust.

    I second that! [thumbzup]

    Mep-003a

Guyfang, I don't mean to correct you because you have more knowledge than most. But on the 002a and 003a, the aux fuel pump does fill the fuel tank and after the tank fills completely, the fuel solenoid shuts the flow off until the float system deems it necessary to refill. Crawdadjr, if you...

MEP003A No Fuel Out of Injector Pump

You did exactly what you should but I will add, you should take a q-tip and lacquer thinner to clean the inside of the pump while you have the delivery valve out. With the delivery valve out, you'll see the top of the plunger. You should she the plunger move in and out as you rotate the motor. I...

    MEP003A High Voltage

CVT1 is in the distribution box (lower box) and has the main wires looped through it. There are actually 2 transformers there, CVT and CVT1; CVT1 is in the back. Yes it is hard to see the markings while its in the box, I'll see if I have my old CVT1 to give you the location of the wires...

    MEP003A High Voltage

High voltage is caused by the voltage regulator 98% of the time. If it's not that, then its T2 transformer or the CVT1 transformer. Since you'll tested T2, try testing CVT1 in the distribution box. You will need to take all the leads off and then check it according to the TM. If it is CVT1 they...

MEP-802a no fuel light shutdown at 1/4 tank

It should keep going at 1/4, usually they will shut down on the last little line before E.

MEP 803A as off grid solar backup

If you look at the schematics, the percent load meter connections go through the phase reconnection switch and then through the AM-VM switch on the front of the control panel. Some of us have had luck exercising the switches several dozen times to clean the connectors on the inside of them. I've...

MEP 803A as off grid solar backup

Everything is looking great! Just make sure you somehow support the exhaust somewhere, I would be worried about to much weight sitting on the exhaust. The exhaust is held on with 2 small bolts to the engine block and then of course the manifold.

    MEP 803A possible alternator issues

I do not know 100% but the control circuitry for the interrupter is controlled with the 24 volt DC system. So it could cause the problem. Are you getting any fault indicators?

    New to me MEP 002

Not necessarily, if the plunger stuck at the highest point then he would be okay. From my experience, the plunger will still move inside the head and will not break the drive washer, it will just get stuck at the highest point and stay. I believe what happens, is that over an extended period of...
