Ft Bragg CUCV pick up help

They'll schedule a loadout in the afternoon, but they stop answering the phones at 2:00PM, and they really don't want to load after then either... They'd also prefer not to loadout on Tuesdays since they have to send at least one person over to Goldsboro (Seymour Johnson) to handle stuff down...

    What to do with Deuces?

The worth of the five tons (and for that matter the dueces) depends on what they are and what condition they are in... Cargo, tractor, dump? Gas, Multifuel, Mack, or Cummins engine? ect... I always have need for parts, including entire spare parts trucks, and I really have a soft spot for...

    Aberdeen 2008

If Downhill Bill stops by for a few, could somebody please bring a pressure washer... His 'deposit' was still visible when I pulled out on Sunday morning... :(

Any pictures or information on the Dodge XM195?

That's from BillW's webshots collection.... Photos are from APG (that particular Dodge varient lost out to the Kaiser 5/4 ton I believe) so David Doyle might have some info on it since he seams to be able to come up with a lot of interesting stuff from APG for his verious articles (and general...

    Insurance for NC M35A2 Owners

There are a bunch of insurance companies that are not liscensed for business in NC that offer great rates to folks with historic MV's... Problem is that anything "odd" in North Carolina goes through the State's Reinsurance Fund (administered by the State's Insurance Commisioner...). Nice...

    SF 97

I've waited three months to fill one out and send it in... I don't remember seeing a time limit on the form, but I'm not looking at it right now... Hmmm...

    What size/brand are these tires?

Yep, there is a break in the sizes where they go from one center block to two... Not sure but I think it occures either at 12 or 14 inches in width. I know that the 900 and 1100 widths (both in 16 and 20 inch rims) only have a single center block. It would be nice if somebody could actually...

    Aberdeen 2008

I'm thinking a bit ahead guys... ;) I'm working on getting some trucks ready for the East Coast Convoy to the Aberdeen MV Rally in May. Part of this process involved removing a pair of T245 (M37) engines from two trucks (one is getting a diesel conversion, the other a fresh rebuilt engine)...

    What size/brand are these tires?

Re: RE: What size/brand are these tires? I may be, but I do have a bunch of the Michelins XZL's in my yard... Photos of them (one posted of a XZL here) are on my website... Both the XL and the XZL or shown on my Photo Page 5 (has shots of differnt tires). The angle in the shot below...

    WTB: Electric wiper motor kit

Not sure what the price was, but when I was ordering stuff from Ted Hill's just before Christmas, they mentioned that they had the kits in stock... I think Saturn had them listed on thier website as well... I'd really like to know what you think of the setup when and if you get one installed...

    Tailgate question

The last four good, straight, takeoff tailgates that I had sold for $400 each. The last three that I had that were pretty badly mangled (would take more work to make straight than I would like to invest) went for $150-200 each. If you can't make a deal on one close to hand, I'd go with a...

    Most reputable/best prices?

I've delt with several of the folks mentioned here and think that Don makes some real valid points... Only thing that I would add to his post is that the dealers that I purchase from have also been happy to deliver to a show that both they and I were attending. Not always a MV show either (I...

    What size/brand are these tires?

Tread pattern is the same as a Michelin XZL... Can't read the size on the tire, nor the manufacturer name from the angle that the picture was taken... Who's truck is it? Ask them... :)

    Checking Transmission Oil/Fluid Level

You can use 80/90 weight... straight 90 weight GL1 was what was specified.. Same caveats that we give for gear oil used in the larger trucks... Make sure that if you run a GL5 that it has the MT1 rating on it...

M37 - new here hiya ... need some advise please

Interesting to note that all the early model USMC rigs that have run through my yard had the spare relocated from the bed to the side...

    Checking Transmission Oil/Fluid Level

Shift to a different gear... It will move things around so that you have room to stick your finger (or the fill tube from you lube gun) into the transmission.

Second Gear in US m37's and variants US models Not Synchro'd

Re: RE: Second Gear in US m37 Just in third and forth gear. Bryan has got as good a line as any as to why the rumor that they are fully synchronized likely exists... I have been told by folks about the same phantom transmission and had figured that it was a confusion between the military...

M37 - new here hiya ... need some advise please

Let's try this again, I timed out on the first reply and lost everything when I had to relog in... :( The early model M37's got fitted with the 88950, later model trucks got the NP420. Both transmission are synchronized in 3rd and 4th gear only. I've heard that one version of the NP420 that...

Shoot a PM to David Doyle with your numbers as he can tell you (and you'd hate for him to miss this post if you are on a deadline...). Good luck.

    Member "Staging Lots" ??

I've been inspecting, picking up, holding/shipping stiff for follks on various MV forums (including this one) for years... And, I've been using some of you to do the same for me as well... I'm a forty minute drive from Bragg, but I tend to run all over the South in search of stuff... ;) I...
