I have bought several 002a's over the years and this is the first I have had a problem with the injector pump (lucky). It had a frozen plunger, I eventually got the plunger moving freely by hitting it lightly with a punch. I tried to start with no luck, so I took the injector lines off and I'm...
I agree, it sounds like your not holding the start long enough. If you are holding for sufficient time, then it's going to be injectors. Have you put a good load on the generator to what how much it will hold? It you can't reach over 100% than it's going to be the injectors.
Sounds like an injector, possibly not popping at the right PSI or not at all. I agree, have storeman test and fix it for you. He does a great job and very fast shipping.
When I had my MEP-004a, the water pump went out and I bought one from Delks. It was reasonably priced, I can't recall the price but I remember it not being expensive.
Has anyone been able to find a replacement panel or vinyl overlay for the MEP-002a control panel. I have a couple of units that have faded beyond repair. I know ebay but I was checking to see if we had any other sources?
In a military study I read sometime ago, test results from there stated 82db without ASK and 70db with the ASK. There is a noticeable noise reduction with the ASK units but not extreme.
Thanks everyone for the feedback. I'm going to take the injectors out and have storeman troubleshoot them in the next week. I'll keep everyone updated to what happens.
I've got a MEP-002a that smokes (white) when started and sounds like it's running on 1 cylinder. But after about 3 minutes, the smoke clears and runs good. I load tested it at 100% for 1 hour, without any issues (no smoke, minimal droop). Turned off and restarted with smoking again. I believe...
First make sure you have everything set to 120 or 120/240 1 phase and make sure your phase selector switch (under the cover, right above the convenience outlets) is set to 1 phase 120/240.
I've got similar problems with a unit I just got from GL. Your high voltage is either the voltage...
I have had great success with peppermint oil. A lot of vintage car guys have used it for years to keep mice out. I pour it in a dish and it seems to work, I have it in my generators, deuce and RV. I use to have a bad problem with mice making nest but since I've been using the peppermint oil I...
Check the fluid, it sounds like your fork is frozen on the inside. It maybe a good idea to take the winch apart to see what's in there. After you take it apart, you won't want to use the winch to pull stumps out. It is stout but the main gear inside is a light metal, I had a winch where the main...
Glad to have you back, I assume you've been serving this great country. If so, thank you for your service. I have a MEP-002a that sat for over 1 1/2 years and all I had to do is add batteries. It ran perfect with the same old fuel. The units are Great!! If any one needs an mep-002a, just let...
Can you put the transfer case into low?? If you can put the t-case into low, I would say that the syncro is worn or the linkage. When my input shaft bearing went out, it popped out of gear and would not shift into low. The input shaft is 99% of the problem on these trucks due to poor...
Keep us posted with pics, I'll tell you from experience that rebuilding the winch is an easier job than most. Also, don't be upset when you get the new seals in and you still have a leak. I had to rebuild mine due to a broken ring gear and the new seals slowed the previous leaks but did not stop...
