Change the fluids, I would recommend taking the fuel tank off and washing it out extensively. I personally use a power washer to clean the tank out but some use rocks or bearings and shake the tank to get any rust out. I have used the canisters on all my units. Good Luck and don't be surprised...
It is not even on the adjuster properly, the spring has to be below the notches. Sometimes I have sets that will work fine a little below the notches and most go right in the middle (below the notches and the bottom).
It looks like you covered everything perfectly. I've brought about 50 units back to life so I can give a little help. The oil pressure switch can be found at Delks Surplus (google).
The adjustment for the governor is easier than you think. I use a large flat head screw driver and turn the...
I'll check that, the voltage gauge on the panel is reading 240 volts but L3 leg is showing 2 volts with a hand held meter. When I started it, instrument panel gauges we great, it wasn't until I went in the house and only half the house was working.
I've got a problem, I was running the MEP-002a on the house with 240 volts. Everything went great, shut down and went back about hour later and ran it again. Now I'm only getting 120volts off L1 and about 2volts at L3?? Any ideas?? What would cause L3 to go dead??
I wouldn't worry to much about it. If I understand correctly, the washer and nut that hold the strainer on is what you are looking for. Just use any washer and nut to replace because all you want is the strainer to be snug. Then the canister fits over everything.
I will usually fill the two fuel filter canisters with mystery oil and then prime the unit, until the IP is filled with mystery oil. Turn the motor over by hand, let it sit a day and then turn it over again the next day. Then I try the linkage again, most times it will be free. If not, then I'll...
Ok, there is also a relay inside the control cubicle, I think K1 that deliveries 24volts to the starter relay. You'll have to look in the TM to confirm this but you may have a bad connection. It may just needs to be cleaned.
I had a unit that did the same thing after sitting a few days, you need to make sure the cooper strip that touches the adjustment nut is not bent in the center. In the pic below #9 pushes the cooper strip off the adjustment nut, as the motor is running. When that happens it breaks the...
I think we have all had this happen. I think JIMC manufactured some and they were for sale in the classifieds but I couldn't find them. He has them on e-b** for like $60. If you buy a used transducer, they are $75 and may last 1 year or 20 years. If I have another go out, I'll buy one of his...
Same thing happen to me. I had storeman rebuild several of mine and they hold 8,000 watts as long as you need it. I also had one with the same symptoms but after having the injectors rebuilt, same results. It was only after having the IP rebuilt, I found the problem. I would try the injectors...
Speddmon is correct, the Mep-002a and Mep-003a are not likely to wet stack since they are air cooled. Wet stacking usually only happens with the liquid cooled diesel's because they operate at a lower combustion temperature due to the cooling system.
