should i put a Detroit locker in the front end?

No, I'm not saying that. But I don't think the front axle would fair well to repeated abuse where a single front wheel/axle was pulling the weight of the vehicle out. I don't think you'd put a locker in and then go out and break it right away. I just would think that the front axle u-joints...

should i put a Detroit locker in the front end?

I just worry about the joints on a front rockwell in a full size truck. Perhaps Steve6x6x6 could shed some light on if our concern if unfounded.

Happy birthday to me (trans cooler failed)

I know on the browsers from a computer, it'll show the section just above the title in the thread display. Or from the thread list, it'll show in the right column. Now, on tapatalk, you kinda have to dig around to see it though. Maybe you're on the phone or something?

This is the SEMTT (M931), that's why it's posted in the 5 ton section.

Happy birthday to me (trans cooler failed)

It's been dripping for a day or two now. Should have a cooler on the way, so it'll have at least two more days unless I pick one up today. It's pretty emulsified. Doubt it'll clear up on it's own. Hyd oil is cheap, well cheaper than a new transmission.

Richard, I think I have a spare blazer tank here, it's yours if you want it. No idea the condition though.

Condensation and milkshake in my trucks valve cover

I wasn't aware I was engaged in an argument? I was just stating what my experience was with this type of failure. His instances just sound too much like mine. The only thing I have against the stop leak is all the "plugging" it does besides the "fix". And I guess I have a little regret for...

Happy birthday to me (trans cooler failed)

I've been thinking about this from a chemistry level as well. I'm also thinking about using some sea foam or isopropyl alcohol in the hyd fluid to help bind with the emulsified water and help pull it out as well.

Happy birthday to me (trans cooler failed)

I'm going to fill it up with hyd oil and let it run when I get a cooler. I'll let it flush out the block for a while. Then depending on how the oil looks, ill drive it around to see if it helps boil of the water. In the meantime it's dripping all the atf out.
