I put 4 bottles in mine. Made no change at all. Honestly he can pick up a engine for probably $1K all said and done. Head gaskets and machine work will be that much. I wish I'd have just gone with another engine to start with.
Rest assured, he's got more than a pin hole casting flaw.
Probably doesn't have anything to loose, I did it in mine before tearing to down. But I very much doubt it will solve anything at all.
If it's a cracked jacket like mine was, no amount of stop leak in the world will fix it. Plus I'm sure the stuff in stop leak does wonders for bearings. It'll slow down the leak, but once it's warm and you're actually driving around and the engine flexes, anything sealing the crack will be...
So I'm developing my game plan on cleaning up this mess. I'm planning on filling the engine with water and radiator flush and just letting it run while I'm working on the transmission. But for the transmission, I bought engine oil. But would there be any real harm in me buying cheaper Hyd...
Drive, no, but idle in neutral yes. Pulled the drain plug and it was a shake as well. I'm letting it drip out until I get a new cooler. Will just load it up with engine oil and drop that. Then another load of oil. Then dump that. The hopefully it'll be clear for atf.
So after running a lot of water through the engine and flush kits to get a bunch of oil out of the take off radiator. I try to button things up this AM and am greeted to this. Apparently when I drained the flush/water, there was still water trapped in the cooler and it burst.
So now I get to...
It wasn't a ton, but it was enough that it would collect in the case. The oil would turn milky over time. But pull the rockers arms off and under the freeze plugs bosses where they mount I'll bet you'll find nice green coolant. Mine did, and thinking it through, on a cold start when the...
It's been covered here many many times. It was AM General that strong arm'ed the DOD into changing the demil code on them so it wouldn't impact civilian sales of the "Hummer".
This thread is for the discussion of the possible, or not possible auction of them. Let's keep on topic.
I'm guessing you started a thread and someone merged it into this one.
If you have something in writing, please, by all means share.
BTW, I've only picked Carnac's brain about the number of these that may/may not exist.
