    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

After some machining the housing fit in the center of the mount nicely. The bolts are at 12 and 6 oclock which is above and below the NSN. The center hole will eventually be the camera lens.

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

With the radiator all mounted and new supports I still have to fill it and pressure test it. I also have to fill the power steering and bleed it now that the lines are hooked up to the winch. Then the nose goes back together. In the mean time I have been working on a rear view camera. The...

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

Got the radiator stack back together. Replaced all the cooling hoses and replaced the lower metal cooling line with a stainless steal replacement. I deceided to replace the two side radiator supports, the rubber bushings are shot and the supports have a fair amount of rust.

Need suggestions on battery powered impact wrench for Airlift and front winch install

The Milwaukee works great. I don't even have the brushless one and it does everything easily.

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

Radiator DONE. These pictures focus on the areas shown in the pictures I previously posted. I fixed every corner and mount on the radiator. It's all painted and ready to be installed. If I can find a pressure test kit (I think I have one somewhere) I will test it before I put it in. Here's...

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

Yep, I remember those days and is one of the reasons I looked for a radiator shop, it was even old school. I'd take it back but I can already see the type of work he does so no reason to expect it would be any better than the first time. I posted the pictures to document what I do on this...

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

He didn't put any effort into it. I'm afraid it was just a quick buck and he over charged for the little work he did. Obviously, had I known that was going to happen I would have just done it myself to begin with. I am not afraid to do it and do it right. I just didn't want to do since I had...

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

No, not for $1000. Mine is easily repairable. The core is fine.

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

After seeing the above I checked checking over the rest of the radiator. It needs a LOT of work to fix it correctly. Here is another corner bracket that only a little of it was resoldered the rest is still separated and needs to be fixed The worst part is the lower radiator mount. It is...

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

When I took out the radiator a month or so ago (post 127) I mentioned radiator had a couple of corner brackets that have come desoldered. I said I would get that taken care of which I did or so I thought. I looked up a local radiator shop (only 1 in a 30 mile radius) and checked him out...

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

Out with the OLD, in with the NEW. Nothing wrong with the old, works great, but the new has new features so it doesn't pulse the electrical system after start as well as additional benefits. The green label KDS will sit on the shelf as a backup. Old New

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

Finally got the fan clutch installed. I decided to put the quick connect on it. I also replaced the Cadillac Valve. I don't know if there was anything wrong with mine but it was pretty rusty on the solenoid and I can't see going through all this to leave it there. Previously replaced...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I added locking shackle's today. I should have added them 3 days ago but I'm always late.

    M998A1 cost

Not enough info. What engine, 6.2, 6.5, 6.5 GEP? Any "accessories"? What setup is it, 2 man, 4 man, hard top? Do you have any pictures?

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

Checking another project off the list. I'm very happy with the way they came out. I'm glad I had to make the panels because I like the way they fill the entire area between the doors and are the same height as the rear doors. The originals are about 3" shorter overall and leave a large gap at...

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

Made a pigtail for the tach. I'm using a signal generator from a different military truck that uses a mechanical tach (I believe). This will allow me to retain the original one to later be used for a TCM for a 4L80 upgrade without needing to splice wire.

    My new 1992 M998 Avenger

Finished the lights on the rear today. New light buckets for the side marker and tail lights. Added the reverse lights, not functional yet, I have to wire them still. Also replace the reflectors. Not sure if I want to leave the black or paint them green to match. I'm thinking green.

Trying to Identify and locate a part

Pretty much anyone who knows anything at all about a Humvee knows it can be hotwired in seconds by reaching up under the dash. Locks and keys only keep honest people honest and do nothing to stop criminals. Watch lockpickinglawyer on youtube and you will never have faith in any keyed lock again.

Trying to Identify and locate a part

Nope, I didn't win it or even bid. That went for way too much IMO. But I did see the lock. Here is another one with the same setup..

Trying to Identify and locate a part

I've been trying every combination of words to search and nothing. Thanks. I've seen 2 Humvees with these for ignitions and I like it better than a regular key switch. More utilitarian. Kind of goes with the steering wheel lock :D
