Photoshop doesn't work IRL, this guy's work does. You see it because you're looking for it, but if you were shopping and an arm suddenly appeared out of the vegetable rack you'd (or some) would probably freak out.
I have my own camo story...I was playing paintball in my 20's and dressed in...
Almost every time I do something on this truck I use new nuts/bolts. If the previous bolt was on anything that could move, it got bent and broke off when I removed it.
These showed up on a web search while looking for something else and thought I'd post here.

They look like they'd work, pretty **** expensive though. Still, if you're determined to go this route which I don't think is really a...
I'd recommend looking through this site first and seeing what others have done because there are a whole lot of options. When you say conventional, I assume you want to move away from the NDT's (stock) to something with radials. Do you want to switch the wheel and tire or just the tire? Do...
I think stars look best with a solid background and historically (I think), OD green.
Are you looking to make it authentic? If not it's your truck do what you want.
So, I'm looking at "no-idle" hvac units and they cost a fortune, easily double the cost of non-idle - thousands of $!
The reason I want no idle is I want to eventually turn this into a camper and idling these trucks is insane.
If I could figure out a way to delete this post I would.
I'm...
I'm bringing this thread back from the dead because I've read through it and found some good ideas and figure some people who've joined the board since 2011 might find some ideas too.
I'm currently working on a 30 point checklist.
I'll summarize the top 13 modifications (in no particular...
I go to a commercial shop for my tire problems. GCR has shown a flexibility that I haven't found with shops that sell to mostly car people. Not guaranteeing anything, nor do I work for them, just throwing out there the name of a nationwide chain that might be of help.
High-Low PTO shifter boot
Anyone got a good solution for a transfer case boot?
I'm afraid my ignorance is great in this area. I've found a number on the web but the ones I've looked at don't list dimensions. Is the size universal and does this apply to the deuce? Has anyone found one they...
I don't know enough about your truck, and I don't know if it's a mistake (or my ignorance to ask), but should you be posting in the Korean War - The Early Deuce forum instead?
I bought the hardware the seller (at the time) recommended. It was pretty high grade stuff, but since it was my life I figured it was worth the cost. It pays to hunt around - I got the bolts from an outfit in MA called Tri-State Fasteners (their prices were the lowest then I got a volume...
Yeah, I'm doing dynamat everywhere in the cab. inside the lower part of the doors and on the rest of virtually every inside surface except the dash console (I'll remove and do the wall behind it) and the windows. Though I did read that acrylic is better at sound insulation than glass and I'm...
Well, it's certainly a sleeker look. Functionally, they're mostly a wash for me. I did it for the looks really. I don't find one any easier than the other, just different. Suppose you could make the argument that at least at night you can tell where the lights are w/out having to use a flash...
Saw a set of 6 plates on evil bay today, but at double the price they usually go for. Keep in mind, the hardware connecting the adapter plates to the mrap wheels is another couple of hundred. Unless you got the wheels for free, maybe just spend a little more and buy 6 lug wheels.
Just an update. I started putting dynamat in the cab.
I also did a frequency measurement in the cab with the engine running. The two highest peaks were at 38Hz and 75Hz with a lesser peak at 115Hz. The more I look into sound insulation, there's really a great deal out there (especially when...
Not anything that you would notice. I think I read that the D turbo adds 2 more h.p. and brings it to 129 h.p. However I wonder how much horse these trucks have lost over the years. The turbo was added for emissions.
Performance is not really something that belongs in any sentence with these...
