If you're buying an A3 I think it's probably a coin toss.
If you're interested in an A2, I would be pretty wary of GL. Most A2's left on military bases have been sitting, unused, in a back lot for some time now and unless you're a really good (or have a lot of time) as a mechanic it may not...
Installed my new PTO boot. Wanted something that fit the shape better and found an e-brake boot that did the trick.
This is the one I used: http://www.controlcables.com/emergency-brake-boot-ring-fits-b1000-b101/
The dimensions are 2.75" wide by 6.5" long. I list a couple other bezels in the...
As a follow up, after scouring the web I found 3 good other options for the PTO boot (I just didn't care, aesthetically, for the stock boot).

I don't have another truck to compare to, but for it's size I'm pretty impressed with the brakes. I had someone cut in front of me in rush hour traffic and stop short. I jammed on the brakes ended up skidding on all tires in a nice straight line and that person will never realize how close...
Looking at that thread is not filling me with glee. :|
I've started calling around hoping I might find a shop that has installed this on the deuce, if not I'll stick with my original plan and give a print out of that thread, and the locker (which has an included manual) to my shop.
There are...
While I see your point, according to the ARB site you don't need expertise to install one. I don't want to have to take a day from work and drive a hundred miles and pay a premium shop that may not even have a lift that can handle a deuce.
Motor Trucks mostly work on 18 wheelers, buses...
I'm gonna have a shop do it. I don't really have a good place to lift the truck and leave it lifted for the hours I would need. When I swapped wheels I used the company's shop (they have an air system) but my boss didn't like it.
At least that's the plan. I spoke to a shop today, they needed...
Decided to go with 2 air lockers. After scouring the web I found a price of $975. I just got off the phone with these guys (I thought maybe they were calling about the price), but they explained a few things to me. They're not supposed to advertise less than the agreed upon price by ARB...
Car show today. My truck was the only truck/car you could climb in or otherwise touch. Probably at least 50 kids sat behind the wheel and at least 20+ adults.
There was a bobbed deuce there as well, but I never saw the owner. I stood around in the sun for 7 hours and spoke to anyone that...
The way the deuce rear axles move side-to-side, would this have any effect with the detroit lockers?
I'm thinking of going with 2. I will be looking into some sort of secondary air system once I get through my current list of "must haves"
I'm debating about putting on air lockers or not. One mechanic friend is like, it's a 6x6, you'll never need them, but another mechanic (and also my opinion) is that if I ever do need one, it'd suck to be without.
I don't plan on doing any rock crawling, but beach/desert sand, unimproved...
I'm all for safety. I like to take my chances when the odds are in my favor. And, remember there's nothing wrong with helping the economy by hiring a mechanic if you're just not sure.
Lockout hubs on the front axle. To be clear, I had a shop do them though I probably should've done them myself, they were supposed to do a bunch of stuff and I had them do this as well, but they never got to the other stuff *sigh*
Unfortunately comparing the deuce to just about anything else is the classic argument of apples to oranges.
If you think the DMV clerks don't know what they're on about, hire a lawyer or do the reading yourself. I wouldn't take the word of anyone else that A) doesn't live in your state and B)...
More like a typographical error.
The post wrote 44 x 87, but meant to write 144" x 87" which does equal 12,528 [bed is 12' x 7' 3" - inside dimensions]
A cubic inch of water weighs 0.036127 (presumably at sea level). So... .036127 * 200448 = 7241.58 lbs. I think the difference in math is...
Seems like there should be a sticky thread labeled this. Hard to do a search for something you don't know the name of.
M35A3 air intake assembly
Anyways, in the attached diagram, off to the side of the main vertical cylinder there is a little...shunt? and an opening that looks like it needs...
