A separate system is more expensive, but it's also isolates the main system. In my case, I could see myself a couple hundred miles away from everyone, going to start my truck and it won't start because one of the dozen accessories was left on, or shorted, or something and drained the batteries...
Mine was caved in a little on the roof, as can be seen from the inside, maybe just gravity. As for the rest of the condition, the metal was starting to lift and flake a little. I gave it a way a few months ago.
At the moment my truck operates at 102 db inside the cab. I would love to be able to hear a lot less, and as it is I travel wearing hearing protection. I'm in the process of putting sound insulation (I have several projects going on at once with the truck). But once that's done, I seriously...
Drove the deuce for an hour today to drop off to (hopefully) get the air lockers installed. Felt really good on the drive. I had to go to another country to find a mechanic willing to undertake the task. I couldn't find someone in my state, and the guy I found in lower BC (Canada) comes...
Not too long ago I was turning around on a somewhat narrow, gravel driveway with a steep drop-off on both sides. No one else was around and I don't (yet) have a backup camera. After I got the truck turned around, I got out and noticed that my furthest rear axle had completely left the driveway...
WA is similar, but the wording includes: "special occasions". Well, for me, going to the dump is always a special moving experience.
I have driven my deuce over 3k highway miles in WA & OR and never gotten pulled over. I do have a cover on the back which I think helps as I'm usually carrying...
You can probably find a pic if you search google, of someone that's done this. I flipped my 15.5's (rears), I think it helps stability a little, also the rears are in-line with the front after they're flipped.
Before and after:
First pic was when I was first putting them on.
It should be...
I'm not sure if I'm reading this correctly. I read an article that purported the idea that many long haul companies inflate their tires too high, but not past the recommended max and this can lead to premature tire wear.
New shocks. I used Monroe 66605, which I read about on a thread here.
I've owned the truck for 3 years now and have no idea how old the old shocks were. They seemed in ok shape when I pulled them off, but they were smaller than the ones i replaced them with. Also, it's a pretty cheap repair...
What about front tires vs the back two axles? I'd think you'd want a higher number in the front because they carry more load, presuming that you're not carrying anything.
If you want to know whether or not you have a C or D turbo:
Does it sound like Satan mowing grass? Then it's a C turbo.
If your ears don't bleed, parents don't take their kids off the street, and you can hear yourself yell, then you have a D turbo.
