Speaking of winches and wire rope...
I have a five gallon bucket of CW lubricant that I picked up from my favorite surplus supplier the other week. I'm going to try to repackage it into smaller, more user friendly, containers for transport to Aberdeen...
I also recently managed to pick up...
I know that you already have the M105, but have you ever considered that a M101 might be a better match for what you are planning to use the trailer for? Heck, if you got a M101A2, you'd even get one with surge brakes and the CUCV bolt pattern for the wheels...
M101 has a cross country...
What you want to use is tool oil, same stuff that you use to lubricate you air tools...
According to FM 9-207 it is:
Hydraulic Fluid, Petroleum Base for Preservation and Operation (OHT) MIL-H-6083, NSN9150-00-935-9807 for 1 qt-can.
In other words "oil, hydraulic, tool" in the old parlance...
Yeah, but it was less expensive than a civilian trailer that had air brakes... Plus, it plugs right up to a MV without modifications. It also will haul a lot more than the dataplate claims, not that you need the capacity for a Power Wagon...
Art,
You might want to look for a tag trailer like the one that I have... Several got sold at a GL sale in MD last fall (although they all had laundry units on them that you would have had to dispose of...) and they show up at other sales now and again with and without gear on them.
The one...
Re: RE: Anyone have a dump bed or 14
Wow, small world... I haven't heard anyone mention those guys in a long time (of course, since I live in NC, it's to be expected...). I spent a very enjoyable day at the yard one Columbus Day weekend getting a Cummins 4BT cut out of a bread van (got...
Look at the bottom of the axle assemblies... They are datecoded and aren't swapped out that often.
Also, David (I think it was he) posted a "decoder" for the contract numbers that you can use to figure out the year from the number stamped on the dash tag.
Good luck, hollar if you need help...
All of the ones that they had listed for this site are gone... All went off at the same time (except for a couple that had the auction close extended due to late bids...). There are a couple more that will be comming up at other locations in the near future, but I don't have any knowledge of...
Got the message, but dropped the cell phone the other day and it's acting flaky... Going by the Altel place this morning.... :(
I'll let you know when my EUC clears. I'd much rather run up with you and your wrecker than have it commercially hauled...
Out of the 21 M817's they had on the...
RE: Re: Just Purchased a M105 Trailer and need some help.
Grandma used to live on Rhode Island (off Fort Ave...). My parents are off Boonsboro... Used to swim at the pool in Wildwood with friends when it was new...
To clarify: Saturn isn't selling an adapter, they just have the recepticle...
Thanks. I like the look of the singles too, but considering how it will be used, and the availability of the dual tires, I suspect that she'll run on what she has for some time...
The guys said that it had a spare in the bed in addition to the one in the rack... Hopefully, it'll still be...
You don't say what you are pulling it with... but:
To change it out to 12v, just swap the 24v bulbs that are in the light fixtures with equivalent ones in 12v (I have a table on my website with the cross numbers), or install LED lights so that you can go 10-36v (there are more than one thread on...
