Great photos! Thanks for sharing.
One other resource that I like for period photos of WWII vehicles is at the Library of Virginia. They have digitized a huge number of United States Army Signal Corps photos from Hampton Roads Port of Embarkation, Newport News, Virginia. Idea that the...
Re: RE: Cheap trailer
Buy it, have ArtilleryDan pick it up. Ride out to his place towing the trailer that I snagged at Bragg for him. Exchange trailers. Return home...
Great excuse for a ride out west !
RE: Re: RE: got a expandable van(292A2)
Congratulations!
Keep us posted on your progress... I've always like the expandable bodies myself, but I keep finding other things to spend money on... Hope that it gives you years of trouble free, and fun, service.
I try to also have: Add brake fluid, funel with some tubing, jumper cables (or slave cable with multiple end adapters) and cell phone.
Towbar if I have a buddy running "chase". Big honkin' chain...
To be honest, a lot of what I haul on a first trip sorta depends on how far I am going, if I...
Who me? Lost? Confused? Two thumb typist?
Of course
I'm still in stealth mode afraid that somebody else wants one and will make off with it... Misdirection (and I'm sticking to it... ;) )

I'm cooking Eastern NC style BBQ for the Convoy folks (all you have to have is a 2007 convoy t-shirt for...
With a big THANKS to Gimpyrobb and Junkyard Wars Crusher who went over last Friday and spent the day looking at the 21 M817 dumps up for auction, I managed to purchase one today!
They gave me a list of all the high and low points for each truck and rated them for me (since I am way over in...
My plans are to depart Aberdeen for the run home on Sunday morning. Saturday night is pretty much deserted, but those few that are left have a very relaxed time socializing... :)
I've got to run over and pick up a hardtop for a M37 at some point during the weekend and will likely do it Sunday...
Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Cheap 5-ton tractors in VA
I just take my older tanks over to a buddy who runs a radiator shop and have him tank them... Then I have him epoxy coat them inside and out...
I've heard that the lye based drain cleaners work well, but it is so easy to have Woody tank...
I haven't used any of John's repair panels (yet), so it's good to hear that they are up to par (not that I would have thought otherwise given the quality of his other parts...). I just got a package from him last night with my doors and skins for my M38, along with a bunch of small parts...
Geez Frank...
The image of me in a speedo has ME gagging... I don't own one, and if I did, I wouldn't post a photo of me wearing it here since folks would never recover...
To help everyone recover from that mental image, here are a couple shots of some nice suits on ladies in my M38 (not...
My experience:
DOT5 isn't always purple... Even the purple versions (most all is) tends to loose its color when in the system... It all turns sorta straw colored over time.
I fill it up to the plug, add some when the level drops down about 1/2-3/4 inch below... I'd rather leak some lube going down the road then sieze up the trany on a trip...
