Then after you get everything clean again. You need to start a regular regimen of adding something like "Bio-Bor" to your fuel. I add some to "every" tank refill. Plus a good injector and fuel injection pump lubricity agent. Every tank fill up !
Totally agree with Gimpy here. Don't remove the gear pump. Rebuild it. Simple to do. I show how in my injection pump rebuild project. Plus if you decided to remove it you still need to fill the hole. You cannot just bypass the pump. The gear shaft is lubricated by the diesel fuel. So no fuel...
I very seriously doubt the governor springs have anything to do with your issue here. It sounds like your fuel control valve is sticking due to gummy deposits from lack of fuel filtration. I've seen this happen before. The valve starts to get a little sticky and the governor springs cannot...
Why are you bringing up an old post ?
This is the third or fourth time you have brought up an old post that I made, trying to prove me wrong. Why are you so obsessed with trying to prove me wrong ?
I'm really glad your back !
Since several people have asked what happened I'll give a short synopsis here.
I had kidney stones removed last year. After a few months I started to get a little sick. Then about five months ago I really got sick. Went to the doctor and found out I had "mersa" in my...
If the spring is broken then what would hold the plunger down against the "Tappet" ? You do realize that spring is just like a valve spring on an engine head. If it is broken then it just flops around. Nothing there to "hold" it against the valve seat. Same thing here. That plunger spring is...
If you look at the cable you will see what looks like grooves or teeth cut into the rod. They basically "ratchet" against the collar which is on the dash. What you normally have to do to "release" the rod is to give it a slight "twist" and then it slides back in. That is to release the "teeth"...
The old connecting rod bolts are prone to failure. There is a 12 point bolt out there that replaces it. Several companies sell them. They are pretty pricy now though. Just look up "Hercules LDT 465" rod bolts.
It only takes about 10 years for the Purple DOT5 fluid to turn amber/clear. It still works fine though. I've had some military surplus fluid that was already amber when I got it. Used it and it's still working in one of my cars today.
Just like the others said you would have the ability to steer, "but" it would be extremely difficult as the gearing ratio on a power steering gear compared to a manual gear is much higher "meaning faster turning". On most power steering gears the "stop to stop" ratio is around 2.5:1 to 3:1 ...
The spring broke due to the full throttle. The springs function is to "pull" the plunger down against the cam roller. If the plunger is not held tight to the cam then it cannot build up fuel pressure. It would just "float" and do nothing. No pressure, no run.
The usual cause of a full throttle...
