I've been thinking about options for a panel now that I'm raising the cab height. I'm thinking something at a 45 degree angle above the windshield with some glowing buttons and maybe some faux sounding stuff mixed in with the functional stuff.
Y'know, if you prefer glass, you might be able to get a glass shop, some place that sells glass for projects like stained glass. I used to get double strength glass cut at a place like that years ago for cabinets. There are a few stained glass shops around Seattle. The one I'd go to in B'ham...
I'm thinking I'm gonna be needing some extra room in the engine bay and going with an exterior air intake. I've seen pics of the m35a3 and am concerned at what appears to be an obstruction of sight because it sits pretty high.
Does anyone have a comment about the air intake on the a3 and if it...
I cracked my passenger side window inside the first few months. I figure I can replace all the glass and buy some extra acrylic panes to keep as extras and I won't have to be so gentle with them compared to glass. From what I've read lexan isn't as clear and it yellows over time (see the...
Just some impressions of mine for this thread.
So, I know you said you don't want to go the super single route, however, being 15% bigger than the stock NDT's (which totally suck on an asphalt surface, especially in the rain), you go 15% faster and get 15% better mileage. So, my top speed...
I've seen various extensions that people here have done to their cabs. I've also seen threads where people have lowered the roof.
The reason I'm going with non-glass is that I once rolled up my passenger door window up too far and it conflicted with the frame and cracked when I closed the door.
I've already put on a new muffler (Donaldson), & extended the stack a couple feet (I plan on putting on a 7 foot camper in the box so the extended stack won't look as funny then). I don't want to relocate the exhaust out the back - life is full of compromises.
I also have the D turbo.
Right...
Tap Plastics is a plastics supplier on the West Coast, never been to them, but they have 3 locations in W. Wa, 1 in OR and several in CA. I'm gonna go to them for my panes. Their website says they'll cut it, if this isn't too expensive I'll just have them do it otherwise I'll probably hand cut...
Update:
Cab came off yesterday (3/26) and welder told me 2 weeks.
What he's doing for me:
1)He pulled the cab off and will be using it for a model for new cab. He'll also handle the installation of the new cab and all the other work below.
2)New cab will be 6 inches taller than old cab -...
After speaking to the glass shop, the only alternative they could recommend was the Lexan. I had hoped they might've been able to offer an alternative.
Doing some research on the web, I found one article that stated that Lexan (aka: polycarbonate) is 250x stronger than glass, and acrylic is...
Thought I'd bump this thread as I'm gonna be replacing the glass in my cab with...something.
I'm talking to a glass shop on Wed, but wondered if anyone might have an updated opinion about what's out there?
I expect to take this thing deep into the bush, and right now I just want something...
No, I'm talking about replacing the cab with another cab this is essentially a copy of the existing cab but for the modifications I listed above.
I'm not extending the floor space or making that part bigger, just the ceiling height (now I'm thinking about 6 inches just to make it a little...
I've had a list of things I've wanted to do to the deuce since I bought the thing and I've just taken the first big step and hired a guy to rebuild the cab from the doors up. It's essentially just gonna be a copy of the existing cab with some modifications.
I've decided to make the cab 4...
I'm thinking of mounting a 81 gal fuel tank from a M939 on my deuce.
I'm trying to figure out the total space and I think mine might be tight.
I wonder if anyone's that got one mounted could tell me the width - from the frame to the outside of the tank (that is, the tank with the brackets)...
Well, it's a: Jump N Carry, JNC1224. This site has a pretty good description of the stats:

I just read the reviews and figured if it can start a semi it should work for a deuce. I might let me...
What do you want to know? I first saw it on Amazon, read the reviews, mostly used by semi-truck drivers - pretty much what I wanted to hear. Haven't used it myself, just got it.
Expect to spend $300+ on one of these.
