What did you do to your deuce this week?

Got serious about a jump starter. Technically, it could be used for other things, but there's no way I'd buy something this serious if I didn't own something big enough to require it. Quick stats: 3400 amp - 12v; 1700 amp - 24v If you're looking for one, consider ebay, this one was about...

Driving in England/Europe, anywhere that isn't the US...

I'm not particularly concerned about my personal safety anymore than I normally am when traveling. I think I will have to do a lot of research before taking this thing to Europe. I'm good at research and bureaucracies - something I get paid to do. I know I won't be able to drive it in...

Driving in England/Europe, anywhere that isn't the US...

If I lived my life doing what others would or wouldn't do it wouldn't be my life, and I wouldn't have bought a deuce to begin with nor would I have done half the things I've already done. The truck and camper will be armoured against small arms fire - using polycarbonate for this including the...

Driving in England/Europe, anywhere that isn't the US...

Anyone have any tips on driving the deuce overseas? I already know that there are lots of city streets that this thing won't fit, especially in older cities. Preliminary plans are to bring a motorcycle, park and drive the bike when I get to a place I where I want to spend time. And I'm not...

    Hardtop prices

I guess that's not bad, I know of a place that sells them that won't even ship because they say it's too high.

    Hardtop prices

There was a thread on here about a guy who built the cab by with new steel - it's my inspiration for a new cab. The hardtop I got now is pretty flimsy, no way it can support weight. I want it strong enough to support a person climbing on it. Even if you can find a top in fiberglass, you'll...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Just your typical day of doing chores around the house... Had been storing a spare engine in the truck, moved it to a pad that's going to become a new workshop that I'll build around the engine. Just in case anyone's wondering, it's been 26 days since I poured.

    T-34-85 price and availability?

Don't know if you've already done this so I'll just throw it out there. Have you contacted any other places that sell some of the unusual military vehicles? I was thinking about Idaho Motor Pool. Now, he (presume it's a "he"), doesn't have any tanks but occasionally has an APC. I gotta...

Who is selling adapter plates now?

Try evil-bay. When I bought them last year, there were 2 sellers, one was less expensive than the other.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Right, but bottle jacks can fail, and really jack stands don't - this is why people use jack stands as backups. It looks like your jack stand is on the bare dirt.

Overhead console, CB, stereo and VOX com set

Steel is too heavy for my purposes. I thinking more along the lines of fabric. I'm aware of how expensive this could get, which is why it's down the road. There are also some alternatives to the tech that are always developing. My advantages are that the material can be bulky, but I need it...

Overhead console, CB, stereo and VOX com set

That's exactly what I want to do, although I have some crazy and outlandish ideas too. I mean, I'd like to add some protection against small arms fire, but only if I can do it cheaply and without a lot of weight, but that's down the road...

    Brake Lining Thickness

Holy thread bump, Batman! Anyways, see pic. This is a new shoe I bought in 2017. The thickness appears closer to 15/32. Though maybe if I had calipers they would be 1/2...

Overhead console, CB, stereo and VOX com set

I doubt no one cares when it comes to these trucks. IMO there seems to be 2 camps, the people that restore and the people that don't. I frequently come up with ideas and if I can find that someone else has done it first, that'd be great to find, but if not you can always be first. I recently...

Overhead console, CB, stereo and VOX com set

There's a company that advertise here in the classifieds (out of CA) that makes a unit that mounts above your head between the seats. It's secured at front and back. I have plans to make my own using this location. What you want could easily be modded with hinges so it would swing down when...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Bought 1/4" diamond plate (new) from a local metal recycler (call around, prices can vary widely even in the same town). They sheared the 2 pieces to my exact size (24" x 25") for an extra charge (~$150 for metal and cuts). At the same yard I found a rusting piece of channel iron which I got...

    2 for 1 :) BEST fuel mileage/Engine Combo for a Deuce

Bob it, put on the biggest tires you can and you'll probably get the best mileage.

Noob, bought an M35, pto/singles question

If you're not in a hurry to get your tires, and there's a military base near you, keep checking the gov surplus auctions. I usually see 395's come up 1-2 times a year. However, they often come up in lots of 12-20, usually mounted on a wheel already (but not always). The tires can be super...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Installed bumper platform on the driver's side today. I'm not sold on the ladder, it's a little shaky.
