He is correct. A 3 phase generator is just not compatible for basic home power use. The 10k gen works very well though. You can set it for 120 or 120/240 single phase.
You can call your local Cat dealer and give them the engine serial number they can order engine components. The serial will be on a sticker top of the engine.
Drop the passenger kick panel the wire comes up thru there. Does the relay engage when the truck is on? I think there is a separate breaker for it also. I have seen a larger breaker under the power relay panel.
12 volt can be tapped under the power panel, you can switch a relay by tapping into most switched circuits to run the relay coil. If you need constant power in the engine bay 12 and 24 can be grabbed at the power block under the spare tire. Nothing is fused so they should add the appropriate...
That being said I do have universal tachs that will work with the lmtv. They are 12/24 volt Datcon 4000rpm ones with hour meter. They can be adapted to most vehicles and are mil surplus.
Road use is hard on the tires. I think the goodyears are a little better than michelins on road. If you are out of alignment even slightly you will eat thru tires faster though.
Check the contacts at the pneumatic valve in the passenger kick. Check the pressure switch on the air tank. Make sure you have air at the pneumatic valve. Visually check everything. Other than that the easiest troubleshooting is to swap the controller with a known good one.
Air could be leaking thru but I would check the switches and wiring. You can use an ohm meter and see when the switches close with the pedal depressed or with air pressure.

I think thats a later mod. My M936A2 does not have that I have to manually throttle up. There are other threads discussing the auto throttle up feature though. Sorry cant be more help.

I'm not really an AC guy I don't mind the heat. But I may do AC in my 1088A1. The large trans cooler passenger side behind the cab would probably work well with a big condenser sistered up to it and I could just switch on the existing fans.
