It need to be up for normal driving and only used for applying trailer brakes. Like when your hooking up to a trailer to test if it is locked in the 5th wheel.
Here is the one I used, Long story LOL, There are others that may cost less.
The things you need are open center, spring centered, (DA) double acting. Surplus Center 9-20-2-X
I did not use a spool that is for a motor...
You can jack up the axle and do the test from the TM on the Sensors, they may just need adjusting in or out.
If you can hear the clicking I would think the Sensors are bad or out of adjustment.
Erick's has them. But I would test them before you buy any...
I had a problem with a Gen. battery some years back. I had it on charge, then I took it off the charger and about a min. later I hit the starter and the battery blow up.
Luckily I was on the other side of the Gen.
