Yeah:roll::roll::roll:, unfortunately not! Welcome PRK Los Angeles style. I am kind of an enigma in these parts. Guys like me, we all lurk in the shadows around here.
Mr. Emmert is getting rich, for sure. Fellas, I live in the thick of all this artsy-fartsy crud:roll::roll::roll::roll:. I don't subscribe to any of it unless it benefits our troops or veterans. I will refrain from getting political about all this though. But, The vehicles were really cool.
I don't know how wide spread the media coverage is on this or if you are all even interested in this huge piece of granite that is being moved about SoCAl. The story is the 340 ton (that's 5.4 M1A1 tanks) rock is traveling from a quarry in Riverside, CA to Hollywood, CA at the LA County Museum...
Been wanting to get a Solargizer. Just never seem to order one. I see them on eBay all the time, but never seem to click the buy it now. Did you or will you mount the solar panel on the cowl ahead of the windshield?
I like your spacers on the boxes. I used three sections of fiberglass troop...
I know you're all talking about the Deuce here, but I thought I'd share what I did on my M818 to give some more ideas.
I tapped into the old trailer emergency air hook up. I kept the existing trailer shut-off valve and installed a 1/2" pipe along side my tool/utility box. The 1/2" line...
Do you have plans to move the batteries outside the cab. I know some of the 939 owners here have different setups to accomplish the move. I personally wouldn't want the batts riding inside with me.
BTW...what did you use for spacers between your tool/utility boxes? Are the four metal pieces...
That last mod looks oddly familiar:roll: NICE[thumbzup]. I know what you need now, a 939 series battery box upgrade kit. Takes the batteries out of the cab and, if you only run two batts, it also gives you more storage space.
@Craig C: to briefly expand on bullet #5...I was able to get my VIN verified at a local AAA office. They are authorized to do it per the DMV form REG343 (see attached second page at the bottom). I had no problems with the clerks there. The guy was actually honored to do it. He said my truck...
Outstanding, another CA MVer! Welcome from beautiful Culver City. CA MV Owners: changing CA driving habit one OD Green beast at a time:driver:[thumbzup].
In speaking with my local Comm. Enforce. Officers, once plated Historic that PC is out the window. I can drive on any public street, truck route or not. Just don't get caught hauling a load unless you can well articulate that said load has to do with some sort of historic significance to the...
Just because they THINK you don't have the proper licensing is not sufficient PC to conduct a traffic stop. If you are worried about being pulled over then concentrate on ensuring all equipment is serviceable, you are obeying all traffic laws and that will no be problem. That is advice coming...
That's the set up I had originally. You have enough over hang to mount up set of steel mudguards. BUT, you may not be able to mount the jerry can holder.
My truck is definetly not a house car. So I stick with my belief on the CDL.
However, Bad-Carp is correct in his interpretation of law. However, I would be very careful trying to certify anything a "house car" outside of any model variations of shop or expando vans such as the M109 or M820...
Just a couple more thoughts. Innocent until proven guilty. We all know the burden of proof is on the accuser in this country. However, with that said, you may have quite an uphill battle defending yourself in a court of law if you are cited for driving out of class, misrepresent your vehicle as...
Man, great minds think alike. I have a used USGI and a brand new Blitz jerry can holder just waiting in the project queue to be painted and mounted. With the narrower 809 cab, I was able to mount one in front of the lower tool box. I aslo mounted one on the right rear mud guard, but I use that...
NICE[thumbzup]
Also, if I might add, doing everything legally, correctly and safely is only in the furtherance of the honor and integrity this hobby represents.
