    M54 GVW Question

Think you be surprised just how much some people know about these trucks, the DOT guy is no dummy, all he has to do is look at the axles and springs and he can come close to the GVW and really no need to look at dash data plates, start changing plates ect, is a easy way to get the truck...

    M54 GVW Question

Still think it will go OVER 26,000 In fact, if each axle carried 1/3 of the 40,000 GVW which is 13,333, so two axles would be 26,666 GVW, so 666lbs OVER the 26,000 thresh hole

    .

Not to bad, most drivers would not even think about driving a twin stick let alone know how. Putting a stick and aux. in front of the transfer most likely require moving the transfer back., putting the aux. after the transfer would work, but sure would need a front drive lockout for everything...

    M54 GVW Question

no plates in a plate state will get you stopped, especially by bored LEOs at night. I would guess it is going to be hard to REDUCE a close to 40,000 lb GVW truck down to under 26,000

    814 Cummins highway fuel mileage?

you may save a bunch driving, BUT one break down, not even major WILL eat that savings, a blow out on a steer tire 1000 miles from no where is not a good thought, drop a clutch, water pump, ect. You won't save as much as you thing by driving as compared to shipping, air fare, food, place to...

    deuce rear suspension question

In a way, for the wreckers this is true to a point, wather then a true walking beam suspension with the beam attached to the axles, It is more of a walking beam on DEMAND, sorta the best of both types. A true walking beam will be found on crane carriers, gradeall, ect

    deuce rear suspension question

The walking beam setup will be found on wreckers, this helps to spread the weight off the spring pack on to the axle, after a certain amount of spring set (load), the walking beam ends are on the beam stops on top of the axle, putting the load DIRECTLY on the axle hence relieving the springs of...

Building a custom cab ? The mHET

REMEMBER, you need to raise the hood just for everyday stuff, filters, starter, oil change, on and on and on, ect, NOT just if something breaks

Building a custom cab ? The mHET

Use the HYD. hand pump, no power needed, I would use the powered pump for everyday odd and ends, just easer , put the fenders ON the hood, gets everything out of the way when working on the beast "but the problem I see with screw actuators is that they need a very long screw, which needs to...

Building a custom cab ? The mHET

just use hood openers that the some of the otr trucks use, these are 12v screw actuators, OR use the hyd. pump and cylinders as used on cab overs, you can get this with a hand pump or electric pump with a hand pump backup
