Welcome!!! I have picked up trucks from Fontana, Barstow and Nellis is the past. Fontana is by far the easiest to deal with.
Sounds like your on the right track with the fluids, tools, etc.
You may want to down load the TM's for the truck and read till your eyes bleed, LOL
You can down load...
I have one truck that has Dexron III in it (well I think so) and all the other have oil looking color in them.
The problem I see with the TranSynd it cost a lot and if the truck is working ok I would not fix it. Just my thinking.
Welcome!!! I live out west of Phoenix about 50 miles.
I have picked up some trucks at Fontana and they are easy to work with and they are
right off I10. Easy to find.
Send me a PM with your lot number, I would like to take a look at your truck.
I got the kit when they were only $350. I did find a kit in CA from a guy, but it was only the box and mounts, He is out of them now.
Yes it does make it hard to get in on the right side. You have to start with your right leg, LOL. I think it was built for the 19 year old.
I wish I could keep it clean when I go into town, but with the dirt road it is just impossible.
But it is a Military truck, needs to be a little dirty, right:-D
In AZ if the vehicle is 25 years old and you reg. it as a Historic vehicle there is not weight fee. You also need Historic insurance.
But on the SF-97 you need to list the GVWR.
