I drive my M1008A1 off road almost every day on the ranch.
A lot of driving is on barely improved dirt roads between my land parcels.
Lots of holes and bumps.
Occasionally will hit the “WTF was that!”.
No cracks or fender issues and the Hawker 6TAGMs tip the scale at 88lbs each.
The Hawker and Odyssey 6AGMs are the best on the market.
Same price range as you’ve already found out.
My Hawkers are almost 4 years old and still solid.
You definitely get what you pay for in battery’s.
When I had my 5 ton, I did get 4 of the $200 6TLs and they worked fine.
Checking the...
I replaced the shocks on my trailers and it made a huge difference in the ride.
Much smoother!
The old shocks were completely shot.
I have stock rims and tires on both.
E rated.
If you go with a HMMWV tire or similar, it will raise the trailer up a few inches.
Makes reaching for something...
If you know all those parts are bad, replace them before trying to start it.
Do not use ether unless you want to rebuild engine.
Ether also will break the piston rings.
Ruins compression.
Actually I’m working on moving all the non gen threads out of the generator forum.
Finished the first pass.
Working on a second now. (Edit: Finished)
Will do a third to make absolutely sure I didn’t miss anything

Parts are in demand and some are very hard to find outside the “circle” of operators.
One of the first things done to a crashed Helo is to strip off...
That’s a lot of trailer to paint!
I would like to see one painted gloss black
Red would work.
A few other colors too.
Sure, a fresh coat of tan or OD would look great, but isn’t always fitting in a commercial application.
It’s the bad paint jobs I hate.
Nothing or very little taped off...
Closed the front and back gates and it was ready to receive empty concrete bags.
We were installing new fencing and it was a windy day.
As we emptied the bags, they were tossed in trailer so they wouldn’t blow away.
Worked like a charm.
Trailer gets painted this summer.
You definitely get what you pay for in tires.
I’m running Coopers on the CUCV because it doesn’t see any long highway duty.
Longest trip I usually make for supplies is less than 20 miles.
They suite the job I need them to do very well,’which is Ranch Duty.
Excellent grip on both loose and...
The BGGs are good and also the Michelin All Terrains
Have the Michelin’s ATs on two of my trucks now.
Excellent tire. Extremely happy with them.
On my Ranch CUCV, I went with the Cooper AT3.
They have proven to be a much better tire than I expected.
