Making the M1101 that I cut for the S788 shelter into a weld trailer. I am lengthening the tongue 16" and made it 3.5" lower. There will be another 1/2" plate across the top of the tongue piece to weld a better jack, one with extendable foot but no wheel.
I'm deciding what to do on a steel...
The unloader valve usually sticks open making it so it won't build pressure. I guess it could be rusted so it won't open and release but first I would try getting some pneumatic oil in it. Taking the line loose and blowing air through it will usually tell if there is crud (oil, water and rust)...
Follow the line from the unloader valve to the control on the firewall. Remove it and clean it. Take the line loose at the compressor and blow air through it. Replace and put some Marvel Mystery Oil (pneumatic oil) in the line to free up the unloader valve. That control collects gunk. Once...
Yes, spider appears to be the wheel center.
In case you want to go to the 425 Mich XZL tires on 22.5 rims on the back, I would possibly sell them (4) from my M322 (trailer in classified). If I can't sell the trailer, I hope to go shorter duals.
You'll like it a lot. Hope you got a passenger one too. Here is a different style for passenger and a center box that I put in the 817. It's nice NOT to have batteries in the way.
Yes, that helps for the bigger stuff, but the pockets just seem smaller with the longitudinal pieces. I don't have the indoor space so need it to drain completely. I tried the strips too. Maybe I'll put a couple of bows in the middle and leave the ends flat.
I bought about 6 of them when GL had quantity in Indy. All sold except the frame and axle I'm getting rear suspension for my 4x4 project. Some were fresh rebuilds. They are not going to loose value even at today's prices. Now I have no sales nearby (or the money)...but the ones in FL at GP...
The 809 uses the same cab as the deuce. The 939 is wider. Both taper (wider in the back than the front). The front of a 939 series is about the same as the back of the the 809 series. Thus the cab has a consistent taper when using the larger cab behind the smaller one for crew cab.
How...
"I've heard that the mid axle is geared different than the rear." No....not.
What you are referring to, I think, is an 809 series transfer case.
The front output shaft (inside of the TC, before the Sprag) is going slower rpm than the rear output shaft and there is a one way clutch to...
"any way to sync mid and rear axles to turn the same rate?" What do you mean by that?
I like the 809 series. Buy 98G's truck and add a 939 series cab to the rear and a short bed.....wallah!!....you got that dream truck.
One good thing with the 809 series is the battery location which frees...
I sold the 931 tractor but still have the M1061 trailer. My post came up in a search, so I'll continue it. Wes, thanks! A 1082 (or 1095) with goose-neck and lower duals would be a really nice rig behind a FMTV or 5 ton....maybe a deuce., PU yea...but brakes better work right and have a good...
I had my T138 apart and found it had been installed in the 817 recently (now sold), apparently a new one. But it made a heck of a racket at 30 mph. I found that yes it was new, but all three shafts had not had the bearings set and the output shaft could move up 1/8". Just saying... check to...
