Have fun with it. Have you considered going 4x4 yet? I'm on that journey with one, doing 395 XZL too.
What is your serial number and do you have much rust in the frame?
Could I buy one of the tops? PM me.
Looks like a great improvement and your getting some use out of it.
Sounds like you had several shops you dealt with, maybe one of them is better than the other to have a look at this issue. Given the size of changes you have made, it should be a relatively small change, that I think you...
Here is a statement from gringletaube, but none of the links work on the thread: There are many experts on this subject here. You can improve the handling with the larger tires.
"Radials should run parallel (zero toe-in) and caster angle be at least +4º."
There are a lot of threads on the subject, so I won't repeat them here. I highly recommend that you make the modification with that much weight and size of tire.
Thanks Chris. Mainly pushing snow or using the A frame crane on the front (I'm making it both front and rear) would be nice to selectively (not full time) go to the locked rear. But yea, good addition later. I'll make sure my rear axle can pivot down to give access without disconnecting...
I'm in the middle of a long term project building my 4x4 M35A3 and am planning axle modifications. First of course is removing one and mounting the suspension, I'm using M105 springs and frame mounts and not shortening the frame. With the 105 bed, I have a large area in front of the bed and...
A side note. I had a patent on extremely high tension bandsaws about to issue and were allowed 7 of 35 claims. I didn't feel the protection would be sufficient so went to the Patent office in DC for additional research. I went 3 times over about 4 months. First trip I learned how to use the...
I believe there are a couple of posts that show rotating them to a position that they will work....sorry, no more details. I'm doing my A3 deuce with the 105 perch's because of side mounts. good luck.
I think so too. I like a bit of a point in the middle and had plans to form a new sheet metal top with about 4" past the windshield on the outsides and 6" in the middle. I'm doing something similar now on my M35A3 but it is a massive structure behind the cab and above it, protecting the rag...
Nice rig engele! That's the way to do a HMMWV - trailer right!
Do you have air conditioner or heat plans? I see you carry them, are they for use in the shelter?
Would like to see the inside. My S-788 is even smaller so I need interior ideas. It's getting it's own axle and not using the 1101 I prepared (to keep it lower).
My Indiana rep said it is the manufactures association that is driving Indiana's version of law. They don't want old vehicles on the road so their supporters sell more new ones...thus we have a strong bias against us. But hey, I got almost kicked off SS for wanting a pro-active approach and...
Have you seen the Kia military truck line? Google it and look at the images. They have copies of both the deuce and the 5 tons with modern engines and drives, but nearly identical...and the Jeep, check them out.
