I also did the drilling of very small holes in the pin.
About the size of the spray tube on a can of WD-40.
I used ACF50 on the hinges and door handle.
Door handle was easy to free up and get going again.
Most Hinges were easy also.
Bottom hinge was the problem child
It took at least a...
If you were lightly shocked by the mounts themselves and not the battery post, you definitely have issues somewhere.
That is not normal.
Will a voltmeter read anything?
No charging or light issues?
I have 6 1”x4”s spaced apart on top, under tarp, to prevent ponding.
Works great, cheap and easily removable for transit.
Some guys permanently mount them to the bow tops I’ve read.
I bought mine on ebay
Brand new and excellent price.
Two complete sets still in factory packages
No clue what price they are now.
Post in classifieds and if no luck eBay

Lighter, stronger, and will never rot.
A common upgrade/modification to these is to install a gate in front also.
Extremely handy and it’s very easy modification to do.
The one thing you will not find, unless extremely lucky, are new parking brake levers.
Cables are still out there, but correct NOS handle assembly’s are basically nonexistent.
They made thousands of these trailers and for whatever reason, no known supply of surplus NOS parking brake handles...
Best Military Trailer ever made in my opinion.
Dexter still makes the parts for the axle/brakes.
Croft Trailer still has factory parts for the surge brake assembly.
Your gonna love it!!!!!
Congrats!!!!
