A search will turn up the shock replacement numbers.
Lots of guys, including me, have replaced them with new currently available shocks.
They work perfectly.
I don’t remember the part number of mine or I would post it.
The Rancho cover will not survive the centrifugal force of the front driveshaft, if it will even fit.
It is not made to spin.
Even off-road, the driveshaft will spin fast enough to disintegrate it.
The original GM boot is tough plastic that is designed for and can handle the spinning forces...
The surge brakes are great when properly maintained.
Most surplus trailers I’ve seen, the surge brakes have been neglected/ignored.
Luckily factor parts are still readily available.
I just hauled several loads of gravel in my M101A2, averaging about 2 tons per load.
Heaviest was 2.46 tons...
Transporting my S-280 to its final resting spot after major modifications inside.
Was painted OD once off M989A1 trailer.
Serious overkill of a trailer, but it worked perfectly.
Pics don’t show it but there was plenty of room to open door enough for easy entry.
Maybe it’s just enough corrosion to cause the problem.
I’ve replaced many a wire that looked perfect and for the most part handled the load requirement.
Once replaced, peeled back insulation on old wire and entire length had corrosion.
The new wire solved issues.
Just a thought
I would spray that area inside and out with a rust converter spray or equivalent.
A lot of guys use Ospho and it works very well at stopping rust and painting over it once it cures.
I use ACF50 to spray on/in all the nooks and crannies.
It also immediately stops rust and prevents any...
With the correct structural adhesive, it will be a lifetime repair.
Bell Helicopter has proprietary videos of testing and the adhesive is actually stronger than surrounding metal.
No water infiltration, No corrosion, No ultraviolet degradation, handles any Thermal load short of fire.

I recommend staying away from anything at Lowe’s.
The stuff I’m talking about is for professional/Manufacturing use and cannot be purchased at Lowes, etc.
Grainger's will have some good stuff like in the link I posted.
Loctite makes quite a few professional structural adhesive formulas and...
Use structural adhesive and never worry about heat warping or fire
The ones in use today are as strong as steel and will last a lifetime.
They are used on aircraft everyday.
Loctite makes several and its the brand used in helicopter manufacturing.
The stuff I use is for aluminum, but will...
Finally installed new set of tires.
They Were way past due.
Been gone flying a lot lately and haven’t had time until today
Was planning on Michelin’s, but decided on Coopers All Terrain.
For what I use truck for, these will be fine.
Stock size and E rated.
Made in USA
Rides and handles...
That is a commercial trailer. I’ve seen a few around here.
No clue on details.
Unless you have to have it, stay away from tilts for any equipment.
Problems with tongue have been mentioned and depending on equipment type, loading is a nightmare unless it’s a small track vehicle (skid steer)...
Most aftermarket cables are junk and do not fit properly, according to old threads.
You get what you pay for.
Why waste $24.95 for a lousy cable?
If you can’t find a GM one, recommend to have one made like mentioned in thread above.
I still have my NOS GM ones and haven’t used them yet.
