    M1009 headlight options?

Don’t forget to use dielectric grease on the connections. Really helps prevent corrosion. Should be a packet included in each headlight box.

New M1009, stuck starter, replaced with DH relay, won't start

Wrong. I’ve ordered them. 5 or 6 come in one box. Its been discussed on SS. Others have ordered same part and received multiple bolts in one box as well.

    M1102 missing brake parts

Surge brakes are great. They do make a difference on a loaded or unloaded trailer. Always amazes me on how many guys that recommend no brakes on a trailer. They don’t fix the surge system or remove it entirely. Once it’s properly brought back to life, it will be years before any real...

New M1009, stuck starter, replaced with DH relay, won't start

ACDelco still makes the correct starter bolts. The are one time use and not expensive. Price is for a box of 5 or 6 bolts

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

eBay has it also. Excellent stuff. Used it on the floor of my 5 tons, then stock floor paddling on top of that. Zero rust issues and the soft tops on the 5 tons always leaked. Even when brand new.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

This is the stuff I use. Benefits of being in aviation. Creeps extremely well into all the nooks and crannies. Sprayed it all inside CUCV cab floor and corners and just refreshed a few months ago. I use it on my M101A2 trailers and pretty much everything. Never worry about rust again...

Injection pump leaking fuel into "valley" M1008

You could run it a bit, get it to normal temps a lot and maybe the seals will expand and dry up since it had been sitting. A rebuild is probably due as mentioned.

New M1009, stuck starter, replaced with DH relay, won't start

Good catch Missing front brackets can/do cause nasty problems. Sounds like your starter needed rebuilt anyway.

New trailer added to my collection

By the time you fix it and the related cost involved, you could have just bought an undamaged one.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I’ve have used Gates for decades. Belts, hoses and Thermostats. The latter is made in China now. Gates Belts and hoses I installed are still flawless. Almost three years now since install Radiator Cap too Don’t know if I encountered a bad lot or their all junk now. They all died same...

New M1009, stuck starter, replaced with DH relay, won't start

Load test your battery’s before getting new ones. I had a starter slowly die. Thought it was battery’s at first. They load tested and charged up fine. Doghead relay was one of the first things I did to truck. Alternators were doing their job just fine. Starting was getting slower each...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

It failed open. Just like the other ones. Gates thermostats are made in China now. Use whatever brand part you want. I use GM and ACDelco. Have had excellent luck with them. Gates also, just not the thermostats. I have a decent sized ranch. Keeping coyotes away from cows and...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Installed new ACDELCO 195* thermostat. Had three Gates fail in as many months. Original Puck style. Greased the front end and the pintle hitch. Cleaned a lot of shell casings out from under seat. A few less rattles at least.
