    Dual Circuit Brake Engineering Thread

Great Peashooter...that's just what I needed...thanks. I'll plan for modification of the pin. I'd be worrying more about capacity of the MC going to the 1 1/2" if I were not going to 4x4. That should not be a problem. Since I have never had the deuce apart to see, the pin has a center that...

    Civilian wheel cylinders

A note on the spring. All of mine were in Rockwell boxes but I doubt they were original, since there is one with Wagner and USA cast in, 2 that have the 3087 number cast in and 3 that have no country marking (but a number I don't recognize). More import, one of them had the light spring and no...

    Civilian wheel cylinders

See the block on post 18 with the banjo bolt? Are you replacing the (banjo) tube connections and are you putting on new tube also? How about the front, will you reuse the banjo bolt and block?

Rear wheel single out w/out flipping hubs

It puts the center of the wheel/tire several inches outside of the center of the 2 bearings in the hub, making the outside bearing take nearly all the load and the inner, very little. I think the inner is a slightly heavier bearing than the outer also. Not good for bearings and the outside...

    Dual Circuit Brake Engineering Thread

I don't know if this is the place to bring up brake piston sizing or if the discussion has occurred (please reference to it if you know). I'm making sure some surplus brake cylinders that I got from GL are ready to go. Here is a link to related thread where I posted pictures of 6 new brake...

    Civilian wheel cylinders

If you haven't seen it yet, here is an excellent reference; https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?123335-DEUCE-BRAKE-LINE-REFERENCE-GUIDE-(Sizes-lengths-fittings) I learned my A3 has 1 1/2" diameter front cylinders, not 1 3/8" like the A1 or A2. Hmmm....wonder if the 1 1/2 would work...

    Civilian wheel cylinders

Here is my brake line on the truck and the fitting that came with a couple of the cylinders. On the truck uses a banjo bolt and the tube connects to it. I was hoping to replace the line with new components, but am not sure which fitting to use. There are a lot of brake lines that already have...

    Civilian wheel cylinders

I got mine from GL, so seem to have a mix. I have one without the spring end plate, 4 with it and a straight spring and 2 with the taper spring. Glad I took them fully apart to clean and relube. i will replace the one that seems to be lighter and no steel cup. Edit....ordered the (1) WK-45...

What did you do to your deuce this week?

    Civilian wheel cylinders

I don't have all of the bleeder and adapter fittings for mine (Wagner 3087 or equal) . I think the brake bleeder screw is 11596 and the adaptor is 50120 but I can't prove it (that part has an MPT not straight). On the adaptor, it is a 1/2"-20 straight thread and I believe it comes with a copper...

    Civilian wheel cylinders

Box says Rockwell but I can't prove they are. Only 1 says Wagner. I took the one with the most surface rust apart and it was well lubed and had no rust inside at all. It does have the linear spring but note it has an end piece where the end of the spring is not direct to rubber.

    Civilian wheel cylinders

Yea clinto...and a good price too. I like the NAPA paint job they show on their website, gloss black, but does it come that way?

    Civilian wheel cylinders

On a side note, I'm getting rust and probably a dry cup. I'll bring them in the house put a bit of brake fluid in them and primer paint them. The wheel cylinder above is a Wagner FD-3087.

I'm not sure, but I think my 73 Ford F600 4x4 has the same. Check this out...

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

It would be nice to have both, electric and LP. I think the JC people used a freezer box for the extra insulation. Wonder if anyone has priced an LP refrig from them?

What did you do to your deuce this week?

I see you are preparing for a moon launch in the third photo. Maybe a bit ambitious. What are your plans? Have fun with your new money pit! We like pictures.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Yea, JC Refrigeration is where I stopped one day. The article appears to say they have a quality unit after one reads past the first part about Norcold problems.

frame reinforcement on A3 4x4 project

Hi jkcondrey. Yes I followed several and made some comments about my planning for this project(s) on a couple threads. I'm making a trailer from the cargo bed, so have post on what I did to my trailer also. Post up a ink to your crew cab build, if you have one. That is a big change to make...

    G177 tires on Deuce

I really like the looks of the G177 with duals on the rear and using A3 rims with 365 (14.5) on the front. That requires two spares, but darn I like the flotation and no rubbing issues (a wider stance too).
