    M1028 Gen 1 Issue

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post one of the wire. Sounds like it’s correct, but given these trucks past life, who knows.

    Gen 2 issues

Belts are very easy to replace yourself. Now you know why most guys here do the work themselves.

    Hi idle doesnt kick down

ACDELCO still makes them and the one I bought last year was made in the USA. Could also be your temp sensor.

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

That is the exact reason why I had a brand new (not rebuilt) Starter on the shelf in my shop. Have a brand new alternator too, along with quite a few other new spare parts. I might still have to walk if it quits, but won’t have to wait for parts. Edit I usually buy my parts online, unless I...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

I like the tray by itself. Very handy. Add the ammo can and it would just fill up with stuff. For me at least.

You need to read the TMs and stickies and old threads. Testing glow plug procedure has been covered a lot.

    Quick & efficient starting

I was having trouble starting. Finally wouldn’t. After testing several things, turns out it was starter. Installed new starter, problem solved. https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?107203-What-have-you-done-to-your-CUCV-today-lately-Part-2/page671

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Installed new starter One on truck was turning slower and slower. Starter has been on truck since I bought it from GP and it was new(ish). Replaced solenoid when first got truck. Been great. Thought it was battery’s at first, but the Hawkers tested and load tested just fine. Both...

I think I got lucky buying a Mep803A form auction!

If you have room, I would hold onto it for a bit. You might find a need for it later. Those are very strong and versatile trailers and very well built. Surge brakes are great when properly maintained. Prices are creeping up and availability going down. You could always sell the HMMWV...

Trailer for the new M998 HMMWV

SS member AntennaClimber did a camper build with a M101A2. The best camper build I’ve seen. Look up his posts and see the pics. Extremely cool trailer and design.

Received notice that the CUCV winter front has already been shipped and will be here Thursday. Now thats service!

    Extra bolts

Reminds me of the cheesy movie “Doc Hollywood” with Michael J. Fox. The mechanic would say “every time I repair/rebuild something, I have extra parts left over.........I don’t know why”. Something to that effect anyway. Made me laugh.

Yes they are 12v. I think most everyone knew I meant the resistor bypass would not be done.

I will get a set of those after the holidays. A winter front for the 5 ton also. Hope the seat covers hold up as good as they look.

It’s getting colder so I finally ordered a new CUCV winter front. http://www.jatonkam35s.com/cucvwinterfront.htm Will definitely look better than the cardboard I’ve been using.
