Most guys use the Solargizer battery maintainers, including me.
Military issue and very dependable.
They work great.
Available on eBay.
I have them on every MV I own.
Genset/light tower also.
Lots of threads about them
What about calling Memphis Equipment and asking about trading it for/towards a M101A2?
A SS member was just there and posted some pics from the visit in another forum section.
There were several M101 series in their sale lot.
Worth a try
Looks like a nice trailer. Fiberglass panels and metal bows is a plus.
With that truck, a M101A2/3 will be a much better trailer for you.
Especially with the weight.
Will look correct too as the M105A2 is big for that truck.
I don’t think you will any problems in selling it.
Assumption is the Mother of all *uckups.
I always assumed and never physically checked the trailer plug voltage.
Military trailer plugs in, gotta be 24v right?!.........wrong!!!
Boy do I feel like an idiot.
Crow tastes terrible BTW.
Stumbled across it on eBay while looking for a new shock.
Was getting ready to order a new shock from Croft and wanted to do one more search.
I searched using “surge brake” and there it was.
It wasn’t listed as for the M101A2/3.
Very happy as this is a $400+ Unit. I got it for less than...
I lucked out and found a NOS assembly for not much more than a new shock by itself.
It arrived today.
Will install next week on tan M101A2
Good timing as a new well house is heavier than it looks.
Have you ever replaced the lift pump or fuel filter?
Replaced all the old rubber fuel lines?
Added anything in tank to help get rid of any water?
Fuel sock?
Some guys have bypassed everything and just ran a line from fuel jug to the IP to get it started.
Some background on your truck and what...
Welcome.
It usually takes on average about $1500 - $2000 to get them going and be reasonably reliable.
Yours is already running snd driving so your money ahead!!
They are fairly easy to work on.
Tons of experience and help from guys on Steel Soldiers.
95% of issues have already been...
I use 1 quart per 20 gallons.
One bottle of seafoam per 20 gallons.
Same for my M1008A1, which gets a solid 20mpg hwy.
Am I Using too much or too little?
Doesn't matter since that’s what works great for me.
I see the surge brake assembly is gone.
Did you know you can buy an pintle adapter to fit a 2” ball and keep the brakes?
Or what many others have done, get a riser and pintle receiver.
Adding a bumper, spare tire carrier, wheel (ie..weight) to the back of trailer?
Thats a lot of weight at...
Maybe run some sea-foam injector cleaner and two-cycle oil added to tank.
That’s my combo and I get a solid 10 mpg all day long.
When I have 6-8 tons of gravel in back it’s about 7-8 mpg.
I don’t drive over 55.
In my 5 ton that’s fast enough for me.
