Man, you guys have the coolest toys/tools. I could see having one on my farm and programming in a flight path, like going around the border and such.
I'm doing more mundane things like making a handle extension for the dump control lever and moving the seat belt reel. The handle was up...
Since I use HMMWV wheels on my Dexter trailer axles and I also use Ford van 8 lugs, I would assume both Dexter or Ford would attach. That seems like the ultimate bastardisation. I just threw it out there
Would there be any reason to dual it up, like all around? With the huge backspace of the...
I'm another believer in Chris's cargo net. And with it he uses what I think is called a climbing carabinder...a clip that lets it be tightened or let out, depending on the load size.
Look at the lifting eyes on a 105 and do similar, maybe smaller...and more of them.
My 2012 RR Rebuild M931A2 appeared to have a last minute knife cut on wires in the engine compartment...appeared to be a sharp knife but they didn't go entirely through all the wires. This couldn't have been accidental...and it was hidden from view. Otherwise I'm impressed with the quality of...
The 1101 and 1102 are designed to match your HMMWV and use the same tires and wheels. And on an 1101, the GVW is under the requirement for brakes on the single axle, even though they have them.
Looks good bulldogger and should hold up well. Note that if you paint and use the acrylic latex, like Behr, that over time it lets water penetrate and rust to form under it on the steel if there is not a rust inhibitive primer under it (even a light coat works).
Use Dextron ATF.
There is a seal that holds pressure to the 4th/reverse clutch pack which is well known for giving up. Modern engine oils attack that seal and cause the clutch pack to lose pressure and slip. Many people just mash the throttle further, causing much heat and destruction of the...
The 365 won't fit your combat rims, they are considered "metric", but they are the same rev/mile as the 11.00's. I've been looking for a way to use them on the front of a 5 ton to keep flotation, but have the dual 11.00 on the rear. I'm even considering re-centering the M35A3 wheels to use on...
Red, Sorry for the breakdown!
Is it safe to assume that these are not large enough studs for the aluminum duals? Should they be 1"? I'd like to go with them for my dump but this makes me re-consider.
Edit; my mistake, thought these were the dual 12.00.
FYI if you do have trouble with the A3's 1545 Allison tranny, the AT 545 will fit in it's place. With several trucks, your odds are higher that you will at some point. Or as a preventative measure, rebuild before they give up the 4th/reverse clutch and use the new piston seals that hold...
It takes a guy with an A2 to put down the A3. Next he's going to be complaining about the auto transmission.
While on the subject of auto transmission in the A3, if you want a PTO off the tranny, here is one on my Alison 1545. If you want hydraulics, I have the PTO and can fix up about any...
You might want to consider going to 11.00 duals on the rears and keep the 14.5 singles on the front. They are the same revolutions per mile. The G177 in 11.00 is a readily available tire.
