What did you do for floor insulation?
Im going with the Classic Parts floor mat, but need something like the original insulation.
They only carry the peel and stick stuff.
I do not want to use that stuff.
My turn for boots.
Have brand new USA made zipper boots.
Seems like a straightforward job.
Do I have to buy new wire clamps or can I reuse the old ones?
I'm not sure why some PCBs have that circuit board and some don't, on identical trucks.
Both of mine do not have it.
Sounds like your starting truck fine.
Does the alternator output change any when you reconnect that wire, while truck is running?
Inspecting the bearings/races/grease/drag should have been the first thing performed when you got it home.
The military is notorious for deferred maintenance on these.
One of mine one had brand new grease and bearings, etc on one side. The other side was bad. Grinding bearing and all.
Why...
Did you look at the wiring diagram?
I would start there.
When I replaced my alternator, the new one (Delco 33si) is a true one wire design.
The other wires are simply folded back and taped since their not needed.
I rebuilt my PCB and it was very easy.
But.....I've also seen PCBs with...
Perfect.
There is another brand that a member had installed and it was too short to the firewall.
Big gap and looked bad.
I think I will go with the you have.
Looks good and fits. Plus you've had really good wear with it and it's not a garage queen.
Thanks everyone for all the...
ACF50
Very well known in aviation circles
Edit: It can be used in a pump spray bottle application or aerosol can. I use the can.
Expensive, but works extremely well.

Im just looking to go back to original style.
No fancy sound liner or anything spray in.
Just wanting to know which brand has held up best. I don't want cheap and then have to replace it a year or two down the road.
They all will "look" good when new. It's how they hold up to daily...
It's bare floor now. Zero rust. I took out factory liner when I bought truck.
Had several surplus mud flaps and I'm using two as floor mats.
I vacuum out dirt weekly as ranch work isn't clean.
I know about the dangers of trapping moisture, but I'm wanting to keep heat out.
Its driven...
I know there are several companies making these including LMC.
Ive looked at the pictures here and read the threads.
Who makes the best one since GM quit making them?
The guys that have installed them, how are yours holding up?
Install issues?
Does the insulation work as advertised?
Tear...
It's not the torque converter acting any different.
Like mentioned above, it's the reverse gearing.
Its very low. I do not recall the ratio
Put your truck in low gear (lever next to parking brake) and it will act same way. Forward and reverse.
Idle should be 5-600 I believe
Correct number...
