It's a really bad place to have a wiring fault. There's no protection there. The only way to stop the unregulated angry pixies is to dump the field, stop the engine, or on really bad shorts it will stop the engine for you. The other thing to think about is one leg wasn't getting the right...
Attached is a low and high tap diagram. Shown here is t10 t11 t12. These are internally tapped together and come out to become l0.
The following are the ends of windings:
1 to 4
2 to 5
3 to 6
7 to 10
8 to 11
9 to 12
In your case you should have continuity from 7 to 8 to 9 to neutral , 1 to 4 2...

I have a gas and electric home, the 004 in the shed has done well for me (it is overkill). The most recent hurricane it suffered a small fire, and I brought over one of the 003s and it did well with everything.
That being said we are comparing apples to oranges here as we don't have...
Wetstacking isn't nearly as big of a problem as people think. Just need to do a heavy load bank now and then to clear it up and you'll be just fine. Bigger issue is the about of fuel you'll use during an outage.

I did this on my 004 and on a friend's 005. Instead of cutting the neutral buss I moved wires to perform the change (I can look back at my notes to get the exact moves). Electrically it's the same , I found it to be less cumbersome.
The ave needs to reference the right points. If it's...
In the reconnecting board? There's another way that makes it easier to revert. Either way that will need rewired to make it zig zag. You also need to know where the AVR source is. If tapped incorrectly you will get some really weird voltages
