    Operation "URGENT RESTORATION"

Thanks Mark, thought I would never find a new rear cover.

    Operation "URGENT RESTORATION"

A slight diversion from the winch project, found a new rear cover here in the SS classified section. I had the end curtians already and the color match was pretty close, lots of turn fasteners. I don't have it secured yet, just tossed it on over the bows. Also decided to remove my soft top...

My 1942 Willys MB Hanger Queen

Looks nice, I did a full restoration on the 1942 MB I have, mine was made March 25 1942, another collection in PA has the brother to mine 1 number older. Some things you may want to adress to bring it up to snuff, it has a civillian windshield frame, e brake is missing, civillian voltage...

    Side Rear View Mirror?

I'm not sure how to remove it but I had a mirror fall off and by a miracle it did not break. It was held on by a clear silicone adhesive. You may be able to pry gently with a non marring tool while heating the face of the mirror with a heat gun.

    Operation "URGENT RESTORATION"

Here is the new clevis for the winch cable, was able to track down the manufacturer, could not locate one surplus. They are made by Electroline, part number GD-143-N and the plug for the inside is MB-743. The original one I had was quite rusty and I snapped the nut off the cross bolt trying to...

    Terminus M1009

That plate attached is a sponson/mount for a M151 series jeep, it attaches to the jeep fender and the MT-1029 radio mount attaches to it. It's not needed on the M1009 rack as the MT-1029 bolts directly to the mount. It's nice to see he saved the 3 legs, those are usually missing.

    Operation "URGENT RESTORATION"

Finished bolting the winch on today, thought I would never get it done having to try and track down all of the pieces. The hull seal for the winch input shaft was a real treat, not much room to move around down there. Still on the list is to finish blasting and painting the chain/hook...

    m1008a1 communications kit

Again, each unit had a MTOE, a list of equipment authorized. There was no standard "kit" for any vehicle. The only standard would have been the installation kit for the specific radio for the specific vehicle, there is a TM with this information. It's up to you what radio's you want to...

    Operation "URGENT RESTORATION"

Looks good, I'll wait to come over when it's finished . A little more progress today, blasted and primed the second side bracket, compressor crapped but I'm done with it for now. Made up a winch support kit using a hard bottom GI tool kit bag, snatch block just fits along with some...

    m1008a1 communications kit

What radio's were installed all depended on what was authorized to the unit and by the unit commander. At a minimum would have been a VRC-46(RT-524)and one antenna.

    Operation "URGENT RESTORATION"

Got the first top coat of paint on the mounting tray, finished sand blasting the front bracket and got it primed. Also finished making the remaining 5 shear pins. Still need to finish blasting the second side bracket and the chain/hook. My air compressor is on it's last leg and progress is slow.

    m1008a1 communications kit

I believe it was a multi purpose radio rack and power distribution box, I have one of the racks in my M1010 in place of the passenger side litter rack for my comm. gear.
