All of the gauges should be "live" and reading their respective parameters when the unit is running. Even load on the convenience outlet should register on the load meter. It may be challenging to put enough load on the convenience outlet to get the load meter to move much.
The output...
Its not likely your well takes 30a. I have a good sized well pump here and its running amps is around 6. My MEP831 will start and run the well fine so its not pulling too much juice.
I recommend getting a cheap power meter and see how much your are using. You may find its not as much of a...
I have noticed when replacing the headlights on my truck recently that the wiring behind the bumper is pretty crispy. I'm making plans to completely rewire the truck. I don't like the idea of it one day burning to the ground due to the insulation flaking out of the wiring harness.
My plan is to...
Did you ever find a solution to the transmission wiring harness degradation? I expect that will become a problem we all will be facing at some point in the future.
Thankfully here in central NC we may mostly get some needed rain. The reports out of LA aren't great but so far it doesn't sound like it was as bad a Katrina.
I hauled a load of supplies down right after Katrina and the things I saw were mind blowing.
Wish I had my shop built. I'm on a waiting list till sometime next year to get the thing started.
Otherwise I'd be interested in going through it to see how tough it is to rebuild. I've done plenty of old school turbohydromatics. Other than being a lot bigger I can't imagine that is any more...
Chemically removing a biofilm is challenging. I would suggest modifying a power washer wand and doing it that way.
If you decide to do a chemical clean you'll still need to do a spray ball and not just fill then tank with fluid. You need fluid flowing across the biofilm for the chemicals to do...
Have you verified everytihing is plugged in correctly? I see a MOLEX connector floating in one of the images.
There is a row of input connectors down the side of the inverter that should be plugged in to the harness that leads from the PMA.
You can see the batteries and how they look in stalled here - https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/mep-831a-troubleshooting.134803/page-4#post-1667559
I just ran across something very similar. A friend called to help them figure out a problem with a power outlet in their home. It showed voltage but nothing plugged into it would run. Came over and tested it with the VOM and sure enough, had voltage across the terminals but as soon as you...
A quick troubleshooting tip that I use is to go through the fusebox with a VOM and check for voltage on both sides of the fuse. It can save you a TON of trouble with that exact problem. It only take a few minutes and eliminates a lot of real estate in one sweep.
You can add me to the list of people what will no longer buy Optima batteries. They went from lasting 5-8 years to lasting 2. No more of that BS for me.
