You don't have to bring the truck to attend the show. There should be a couple 5 tons there as well as 2.5 tons, jeeps, etc. Maybe a few parts for sale as well. The wiring is pretty straight forward and you should be able to find replacement harnesses to install without much hassle if you...
Welcome from Colchester. If you care to meet some of the "local" military vehicle crowd the annual VT military vehicle show is next weekend way up in Waterbury. Also at the end of the month is the Weare, NH show, a little bit closer to you.
The same master cylinder is used in other applications so you can find them cheaper than $100 if you shop around. I can't recall the part number off hand but there is a post about it here on the forum.
The registration number would indicate that it may be a USMC truck, so the VIN info thread will probably be no help in finding where it came from. Check behind the seat for a pioneer tool rack, or at least the holes where one was once bolted.
July 7th-8th is the Green Mountain Military Vehicle Club's show in Waterbury VT. We have a great field on US RT2, exit 10 off I89. Here is a link for directions to the site: https://www.google.com/maps/dir//44....!1m0!1m0?hl=en

I've still got some NOS medium tow bars as well as 3/4" feet and chain clamp sets. I'll be at the VT and Weare Rallies next month if you don't want to make a trip up to Northwest VT.
It's quite the project but not too bad compared to what some people start with. At least in the pic above it's recognizable as a dump truck! I did find it funny how it was mentioned that way though. It has to be the same truck as mine, too much of the story lines up and there aren't exactly a...
I'm certain it's now as loud as it's ever been. It still needs a ton of work but it's looking better for sure.
I've been working on other projects lately so not a lot has been done.
On a related note, I've been searching around for an old pic of the dump truck back when my friend George...
The later DRASH trailers that still used the similar style brake setup as the m101a2s and a3s had those adjustable hitches. I've got one set aside in case I ever need the adjustability. It's also a good way to change over to a ball hitch since the channel is the standard size.
Nope, this one is a blazer that has been on the road quite a bit.
From what I'm told it's usually parked over the winter but declined to fire up this spring. I'm not sure the reason as I wasn't involved until today and only provided advice over the phone regarding the glowplug system. Fuel...
Not my CUCV, but one that was dropped off last night. It wouldn't start for the owner after sitting over the winter. The owner installed new glowplugs and then the magic spray:shock: was used to try to start it. Apparently the air cleaner lid (not bolted down) blew off the engine.
I tested...
The antenna mount on the bumper looks cool, but it's real nice to have the doors open all the way flat - especially with a trailer hooked up. You can only open one door all the way if you have a trailer with surge brakes because you have to park at an angle or the doors will hit.
If it was an air force truck then the rest of the truck was sanded pretty well, I haven't noticed any other strata blue yet. Of course it's hard telling what's been changed over the years since the truck has been out of service for a while. I'm fairly certain the hood, fenders it had, and...
