1969 LCVP (Landing Craft, Vehicle, Personnel)

A few more shots of the bridge truck: So far there has been zero progress with the boat move. Both the big boat movers in VT have said they can't do it. I sent good pictures of it to both. The local hauler here in Colchester kept me waiting for 3 weeks on the fact he wanted to look at it in...

    What do I have? M35a1 or M35a2

Maybe an m35 repowered to an LDT? Is the passenger rear engine mount bolted on?

New to me m59 dump truck...

I think it's around $60 a ton up here. Not a lot but it pays for the trip to bring it. Since I've got a few larger items showing up in the near future I'm scrapping out the few junk trucks, cabs, etc. so they'll be a little room in the yard. I hate to scrap this bed but it's rotten throughout...

New to me m59 dump truck...

Not much has happened with the dump truck lately. Since the GMC dump body is so rotted that will be headed to the scrap yard pretty soon. I'll remove the tailgate linkage, some of the hooks, the tailgate itself (good for a pattern) and anything else savable. I'll be keeping the subframe too...

    Flood recovery

    6 hours? I'd check everything.

    M416a1 Surge Brake Reservoir Cap

The m416a1 TM shows both the cap pictured above as well as a short cap with the hex fitting (no tube). Both my a1s had the hex style, while both of my NOS m416a1 surge brake assemblies have the mushroom cap. The version with the tube that SLOrazorsedge mentioned is also a direct swap since the...

    M416a1 Surge Brake Reservoir Cap

    It should unscrew normally (counterclockwise).

    m45a1?

Looking at the pic it should be a Mack engine. If it was rebuilt in 1975 there is a good chance it was used in Vietnam. All of the rebuilds I've seen sold from the gov. with the rebuild year as the year of the truck.

    Front pintle hook on M1008

I've got a front receiver hitch on my m1028, that way I can have a pintle or winch on it (or nothing).

1969 LCVP (Landing Craft, Vehicle, Personnel)

Yep it's got all the plating on the front half. Wish I had a 5 ton wrecker or 2 right about now.

1969 LCVP (Landing Craft, Vehicle, Personnel)

Well it's right next to Lake Champlain. Too bad it's not operational, it's sitting less than 1000ft from the water right now. Though I don't know if it got here via the water or roadway.

1969 LCVP (Landing Craft, Vehicle, Personnel)

Trying to lift the whole front of the boat at once didn't go so well, the pipe truck would lift the front tires off the ground with the boat not moving at all. So we got to work with some bottle jacks on the starboard side. Once it was up a bit the pipeline truck would pick up one corner at a...

1969 LCVP (Landing Craft, Vehicle, Personnel)

The plan is to get it moved to the yard, where it will stay until either I do something with it or someone buys it. It will probably cost me enough the first time! The step deck was a package deal with the LCVP. The bridge truck was added in afterwards, all 3 for a pretty good price in my...

1969 LCVP (Landing Craft, Vehicle, Personnel)

Here's a shot of the engine sitting in the shop. I'll get some more pics of it all when I go up there on Sunday.

1969 LCVP (Landing Craft, Vehicle, Personnel)

I don't have a use for it and I'm really not into boats either, I just had to have it I guess. Looks like we'll head up this weekend with the m756a2 to get a few things done with the boat and truck, maybe load out the 6-71. It's only about 25 miles away so not a long move for it all. Hopefully...

1969 LCVP (Landing Craft, Vehicle, Personnel)

That must have been a good workout for the 880. I've read the wood versions were about 18,000lbs, not exactly sure the weight of the fiberglass ones. The 6-71 diesel is currently out of it as well so that lightens it a little bit. Not quite sure how it ended up where it sits now. The owner...

1969 LCVP (Landing Craft, Vehicle, Personnel)

 I hope I don't regret this one... 36ft LCVP, fiberglass not wood. and it came with a bridge truck too. Anyone got any advice? :carnac:I see a couple overwidth permits in my future. And a hefty tow bill.:(

Can anyone identify these trailer numbers?

The one on the fender is the tire pressure.

2017 GMMVC Rally in Waterbury, VT July 7th-8th

Bump, hope to see some of the VT crowd at the rally.

    The VTCS m756a2 Pipeline Truck

Yep the tank is aluminum. It's a mid 1950's trailer, later ones were fiberglass and then stainless steel.
