It looks good in the yard!
After removing some debris from the needle valve it will stay running and it drives pretty good (although the steering wheel isn't the safest!)
Thanks again Jamison.
Almost a year later and nothing has changed with the R2.:shrugs: A lot of other smaller projects have taken priority.
We did pick up some parts trucks last year, so we've got decent fenders, the right pintle setup, and a couple other engines to look at if it comes down to that.
We dragged it...
After a bit of a break work has resumed on the pipeline truck.
A new plastic battery box was added, and the battery box and tool box doors are back on the truck.
With the help of an SS member we've got our tackle blocks, I didn't take any pics yet but the blocks and anchors have all been...

The truck in question is an m54a1. A bunch of the trucks at this particular site were rebuilt in 1974 and 1975 and list those years as the model year, but they are from 1960's.
The folks at Old Town forestry are great to deal with. Since the truck is listed as a 1975 there is a very good chance it was used in the Vietnam War and rebuilt overseas, a bunch of the Mack powered trucks from Maine forestry have rebuild tags from Japan and Taiwan in 1974 and 1975.
I'll be...
Half of the clearance lights had plastic housings, which were all cracked so we're changing them all to metal housings. The blackout light lenses look original so they're all being replaced, we're also adding amber lights to the sides of the front fenders for a total of 20 lights.
Pioneer...
My Silver Eagle LWHMTC has inner fenders that go all the way to the back of the box to cover the taillights, it was built 4-5 years before the m1101s were put in use.
Today's project was modifying a pioneer tool rack to go on the passenger side of the headache rack. Some WWII era wreckers had a second tool rack that held an extra shovel and a sledgehammer so we did something similar.
I'm not sure why but the passenger side of the headache rack had 4 welds...
The wheels on the trailers pictured above are the same as on m151 series 1/4 ton trucks. If I remember right the bolt pattern is the same as the one on your Bantam, but the center hole may be too small to fit over the hub. The m151 wheels also will sit closer to the trailer tub, I'm not sure...
If you're interested I can get you some basic dimensions of the bed and poles on an m756a2 pipeline truck.
The bed itself is between 10 and 11 feet long if I remember right. You'll probably never find the gin poles themselves but you could make your own design with similar dimensions.
