I have LEDs in my M35A2 and I can tell you they are worth every penny. They are much brighter and draw much less power from the alternator and give it a modern/scary look at night. Plus for an old truck, it really adds a lot of safety traveling at night.
Jatonka is working on them and they might be pricey at first but they will come down as they become more popular. You will notice a horsepower increase, on top of less tire wear, plus the mpg will increase. Thats a lot of extra weight that wont have to spin and should be worth it. Or just...
I live up in the mountains in PA and I can tell you to get a Frost Plug. It will work wonders on heating the entire motor. Stay away from oil pan heaters. They malfunction more than they serve a purpose and with the oil pan so large, you are heating a very small area and it will take very...
If the gauge is a problem, just replace with a new one. It shouldn't be a problem. Mine works great but in this cold weather, it has been sticking a little bit. If it continues to be a problem, I will replace it.
Amber also means caution and will not be used continuously. In fact, many trucks and vehicles have amber lights for turn signals instead of red. Secondly, it will only be used when there is nasty weather. Whether it be a snow storm or heavy fog. If an officer wants to pull me over in the...
Thank you. It works very nicely. Stick with LEDs. Its more expensive but they last and have a great look. I have all LEDs for lights except turn signals. They are next. They make the truck look more aggressive. At least Thats my take. But they also draw less current which is a benefit.
Since June, my father and I have been restoring a M35A2. I have seen posts on here about people adding backup lights for visibility backing up at night. I decided to use LED lights for the better light quality and less draw on the alternator. I used a 27 Watt off road light from superbrightleds...
What's interesting is we had the resources at the time, because we produced everything ourselves. We could only produce so much because most of our factories were converted for the war effort. On top of that all the food resources that were rationed out so our troops had food and supplies...
Ray, what was the hardest part about your tractor build? Was it mounting and pluming the extra tank? Do you have a switch on the dash that lets you select the tank you want or is it all connected to the one on the right?
That makes sense. I didn't think of the piped being damaged. I was thinking the extra weight would be good over the rear axles. If you had done the design like that, you would have to have mounted steel or mesh on over all the pipes in that area. Might have been a lot more work. Are you...
Sweet Build. I have a question. How much space is between the side door entrance and the front of the trailer? I was wondering if you had thought about building the bathroom horizontal in the trailer rather than along the side. I thought if there was enough room, you could build a wall along...
