Why not purchase the paint all ready made? If you buy in bulk from Rapco parts, they have all the different military shades available. And they are oil based. Check out their website, it will save you a lot of time.
There will be some smoke during idling, even after it's warm. It could be coming from the turbo, that's why after running it for a while and then stopping there is no smoke until you let it idle again for a period of time. I have a light blue smoke while idling if I rev on the engine...
I have spent the last 2 hours trying to find the TM manual about the tank fuel pump for an M35A2.
I replaced the fuse in the pump a couple months ago when the pump stopped working. I checked it today and the pump was not working. I looked and the fuse looked like it was blown. I put another...
It all depends on your application for the truck. The multifuel is a great engine, but they all have their limitations. The 5 Ton has more power but also weights 4 ton more. It all depends on what you want to accomplish. I love the multifuel, but my next purchase will be a 5 Ton for the...
I have State Farm and I have mine under A Classic Insurance Policy and that's what mine costs every 6 months! I had to have photos taken and I specifically stated that it was not a daily driver and only needed Liability. I also have a deuce and that might be why. I think State Farm can only...
For Future reference, get rid of PB Blaster. Go buy "Free-All." I have had bolts that wouldn't budge with PB Blaster, and I sprayed some Free-All on them and let set for 2 minutes. They came off like clockwork. It's amazing stuff. It was hard to believe until I tried it.
If you are looking for additives to help the truck run a little stronger, you need to read some of the studies about the Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel. The fuel these days is not lubricating properly and the proper additive will make a difference. I would go with Opti-Lube XPD Fuel Improver. When...
I saw in the latest Military Vehicle Magazine, a website called, driveatank.com. I wondered if anyone has been to the facility and driven any of the tanks/or vehicles and the experience they had with it. I was thinking about doing this for my father for Christmas.
I am more concerned with better quality fuel getting into the cylinders. If the spin on filters are doing a much better job at filtering over the stock. The fuel should have less dirt and crud in it, allowing a better burn. It might make a very slight difference, just wondered if anyone did...
Has anyone noticed their truck running different after putting on the secondary fuel filters? I have the spin-ons for the Primary and Oil but not the secondary yet. I was wondering if the truck ran any different if the secondary filters are filtering at a lower micron rating. I would think if...
Well I added the Fuel Improver and got some results. I emptied the tank and put fresh fuel in with the OptiLube XPD. I let it run for 30 minutes then ran the truck. As I was driving the truck. I noticed in my blindspot mirror and nice long line of exhaust. Gray and white, slight blue hue to...
It was my driving. I figured it out. I was going to slow between 4th and 5th and if you let the truck slow to 1500 rpms on its own, then you engage the clutch and pull back to 4th and no grinding occurs. I also blip the throttle in between shifts to match the rpms to keep from the sudden...
