    4th Gear Grinds while downshifting

Hi Everyone, I am trying to diagnose the concern with my transmission and wondered if someone can help shed light on the matter. When I am shifting up through the gears from 1st through 5th, there is no grinding. Very smooth. But if I am in 5th gear and want to downshift to 4th, there is...

Opti Lube XPD and Oil Fortifier. Are they a measurable difference? We will find out

If the Fuel Improver is lubricating the injectors better and helping produce a better spray pattern than before, its more efficient. If it's more efficient it must make a difference in the power or fuel economy since there is now less restriction than before. I am not a mechanic but it would...

    Starting a deuce??

The truck runs great. Has lots of power. If I leave the throttle out at 3 clicks, it idles at 1,000 like yours. But the TM says to let the truck idle below 1,000 for 5 minutes to keep from doing damage to the turbo. That's why I wanted it to idle at 800-900 on startup. After a couple...

    Starting a deuce??

Mine is a similar situation. I use the accelerator to start the deuce, like the TM's say, but after it turns over, if I take my foot off of the gas, it will slowly drop the rpms and stall out. After a couple minutes of warming up, the truck then will idle between 800-900 rpms. I don't know if...

Testing your Antifreeze/Coolant - Important Antifreeze Facts

So to clarify. You use 50% Texaco Anti-freeze and 50% distilled water and add two bottles of DCA or SCA? Ends up being 4 gallon a piece plus the additives?

PA residents and the M818 according to PENNDOT

If the truck is a personal vehicle and is not being used commerically. It should not be a problem with your standard license because the vehicle is under 26,000 pounds. I wonder why the State would tell you that when there website states the exceptions.

Opti Lube XPD and Oil Fortifier. Are they a measurable difference? We will find out

I would think it would help create a better jet being sprayed into the cyclinders. Maybe not. The fuel additive is supposed to be mixed with diesel. Maybe thats why there was no difference. I guess no matter what it's hard to diagnose whether it creates more power, because who has a dyno to...

Opti Lube XPD and Oil Fortifier. Are they a measurable difference? We will find out

I didn't put it in yet. Does it make any changes whatsoever? Notice any HP gains? I would think if it helps lubricate better it will run better. Less friction

Opti Lube XPD and Oil Fortifier. Are they a measurable difference? We will find out

Did some more driving. I drove the truck harder tonight on steeper grades and the truck didn't break 200. Hovered at 190 or so. It seemed to do great on hills. Also, after letting the truck cool down, I looked at my engine temp. The truck was down to 160 degrees. Normally it would.cool...

Opti Lube XPD and Oil Fortifier. Are they a measurable difference? We will find out

I have no way of identifying how much of an increase there is. Wish I had a way of determining what the actual gain is. I live in the mountains. When downtown gets 6 inches of snow we get about 10-12. The constant mountain driving puts me in 2 gear high. I didn't have to downshift out of...

Opti Lube XPD and Oil Fortifier. Are they a measurable difference? We will find out

I bought it from their website. There are tons of customer reviews and these findings range from people who race in NASCAR to multiple large tractor companies and use this stuff on a continuous basis. Look up their website and take a look at it. There are people reporting up to 30% increase...

Opti Lube XPD and Oil Fortifier. Are they a measurable difference? We will find out

I wanted to post my findings. If anyone owns a Diesel Military vehicle, I strongly recommend purchasing a quart of Opti-Lube Oil Fortifier and putting it in their next oil change. You wouldn't believe the differences it made almost immediately. You add one full quart on a oil change and after...

Opti Lube XPD and Oil Fortifier. Are they a measurable difference? We will find out

Hi everyone, I just purchased some Opti-Lube XPD and Oil Fortifier and I am going to run it in my M35A2 and see how much of a difference it makes over the course of a new tank full of Diesel and a new oil change tomorrow. The Opti-Lube was rated second highest in a ULSD study and people have...

    Lockout hubs

Ok, so just to clarify. If you get the front Hubs, you simply unbolt the orginials and place the new ones on and you are set. If you want to put one lockout on the front rear axle, you need to install a different shaft in the axle.

    M105 will not pass inspection

I am all for being safe. I do not want to drive something that doesn't meet code. However, I would think that there must be some type of provision that must include age of vehicle. I went to another inspection station and they said that the trailer doesn't need to even be inspected. He said...

    M105 will not pass inspection

Had I known that this would be a problem, I would have bought an A2 from the start. At this point we are checking with DOT before we cut and or add anything to the trailer, still waiting to hear back as to what can be done. Might end up registering it in another state and not messing with it.

    M105 will not pass inspection

Well we can but we have to submit photos and there can be no rust. We are restoring it now so we can't get those plates until after we have finished it. I am going to try another inspection station. Apparently there is a guy that's about 1.5 hours away from me that handles military trucks more...

    M105 will not pass inspection

So the M149 has the same set up at the M105? I thought the M149 had dual air lines, one for regular and one for emergency. Mine only has the standard air line. We told him and he could see that but he said with a weight over 3,000 pounds, you must have one. I said, yes you do, on vehicles...
