    M882 Radio Rack Help

There are plates with captive nuts that go under the bed, the rack has bolts that go through the bottom mounting plate and secure to the captive plates. The power box is a common point to get power to the rack mounted equipment, like a big dc power strip if you will.

    12 volt conversion starting problem

All 6.2 diesel came from the factory with 2 batteries. Too bad you converted to 12v, you gave up one of the best features of the cucv, the 24v starter uses half the amperage of a 12v and makes starting much easier. Most new starters are the no shim type.

    Mep-003A Ice Storm Runaway Engine

Got a chance to get back to it today, found that a small linkage on the side of the pump had fallen off. It's held on with two screws, it fell down on top of the trailer deck luckily. Will report back once I get it put back on, of course it is in a tight spot and it's cold and snowing.

    Mep-003A Ice Storm Runaway Engine

I have not been able to get back to the gen yet but he said he was clearing snow with the tractor while it was running and when he returned it was wide open, so it could have been minutes or 1/2 hour running wide open. Thanks for all the replies, I will get to it tomorrow and report back.

    Mep-003A Ice Storm Runaway Engine

I'm pretty sure I recall seeing the spring but I will check it again. There is no control over the throttle it stays wide open. The throttle control is free and moves easily and like I said it happened while running at normal speed making power. I will see if he is interested in your engine...

    Mep-003A Ice Storm Runaway Engine

My BIL was running his oo3A during the ice storm here in Maine, it was running fine then all of a sudden went wide open. I think when that happened it also blew a ring on the no 2 piston as it's blowing oil. Anyway all the linkage is free and it did it while running at normal speed so I assume...

    plow pump on cucv

I did the 12v conversion on my M1009 plow rig, I mounted the belt driven pump in place of the driver's side alternator. Also had to remove the brush guard for clearance for the head frame. If I would have had an electric unit I would not have done the 12v conversion, had the belt drive on hand...

    Prc 68b, 126, 128

I'm not sure the 68B would cover 2m, the one I had was 6M. The other radio's were capable of different bands depending on which band module was installed in the radio, either 2m or 6m, not sure if they made a UHF module or not. Check out prc68.com for more info.

Are the landing leg swivel brackets the same for a M100 and a M416?

I am in sort of the same boat. I have a swivel on a M100 I am restoring and the holes don't seem to be spaced right. In the down position the leg cants back, in the up position it won't lock as the leg hits the parking brake cable bracket. According to what I have read the WWII swivels have 3...

Need some troubleshooting input/suggestions on 24v-12v step down panel

How many amps @12v do you need? would be my first question. Second, when you find that out you can purchase a single unit to step down the voltage, not sure why you combined all those units unless you got them real cheap or for free. Looks over complicated when it doesn't have to be. Another...

    Tie Rod End Size ??

Need to replace the tie rod ends on my M882, there are two options listed, 3500lb axle or 4500lb axle so of course I would like to know which is the correct one? On a more exciting note the power steering is in! Thanks Mark

    Starter support bracket?

Yup, it's missing and looks like the newer style gear reduction starter, good catch.

M1008 -lost all lights and engine shut off--

Check the fusible link between the 12v junction block and 12v battery tap. It may show voltage but it still could be bad and not carry any amps, it happened to one of mine a real head scratcher. I ran a straight wire to test it then replaced the link.

    Power Steering Pump

Went back 14 or so pages and found the pictures. What was throwing me off was that I had an extra bracket thrown in the mix, probably off the plow pump the donor had. Pulled the pulley off the pump today, new one arrives tomorrow.

    Power Steering Pump

I have a power steering "kit" but I did not take it off so I am trying to figure out how the pump attaches to the front of the engine. If some one could post a good picture or two of the pump mounting that would be great.

I'm sad to sell Ethan's Deuce and related parts, but...

HI Rob, good luck with the sale of the collection. I still have Ethan's generator trailer, The M1008 is still here that you helped me with as well. We needed a prybar to tighten the new alternator belt on the CUCV for the trip back to Maine, found one in the old "shoebox" volvo and I still...

Nice, was that radio mount already in there? Have only seen them mounted like that in the M1010.
