Make sure that you replace the "cap" back on the radio "power" connector where your power cable went over to the amp. If that protective cap is not installed on the 77 the radio won't work. If you are getting static on the amp but not the 77 stand alone, changing the module won't fix anything...
I had a similar problem witht the acetylene tank for my M1031, took it to get it refilled/swapped and they "lost it", took a year for them to find a replacement. The tank is unique size, the local depot now has a spare full one on hand for me. What was neat is the replacement tanks they...
I had a mean green 12v for a 6.2 civvy suburban, it looked like a standard starter with a mean green sticker on it to me. I had the same results, it crapped out.
That connector is not a standard military radio type connector. I bet they had a "base use vhf/uhf" radio in there not a tactical radio. The only issue mount for the "cab" I have seen for a cucv is in the M1010 ambulance. A RT-524 or simialr would take up the entire floor leaving no room for...
The 24v bus is behind the the rear battery on the firewall, the 12v bus is next to the glow plug relay on the fire wall. Replacing the top alternator with a 12v unit would have been alot easier and no extra wires, fuses etc. and 160A of 12v power available. If the alternator failed they are...
They are a isolated ground, not common. Napa has a part number for them but people have reported here that is was not an isolated ground. Best option is to have a shop re build it.
Another option...
The local Forestry asked me if I knew what other engine might swap in for a NHC 250? The cylinder sleeve corroded through and the rebuild cost was quite high. They have a special body on the truck and would rather swap in another engine.
Thanks
http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?101135-M1010-DUVAC-Removal-Plan-quot-B-quot I use the M1010 quite often and the conversion is working very well. It is very simple and no hacking necessary.
The AC relay is under the driver side litter/stretcher box. There is a cover over a bunch of relays, it should be a white one. Mine did the same thing, I took the relay apart and replaced the diode.
The TM states to disconnect the batteries if the set is not to be used, I don't recall the length of time. I also seem to recall an earlier post of capacitors on the fuel pumps going bad and draining the batteries.
M1010 stock except for starter relay mod, one glow cycle and starts right up, a bit cranky when below zero for a few days but always starts. I live off grid so no block heaters here.
I have a bad u joint on the front left on the 882. Never had one of these hubs apart and curious how much of a job it is to get the axle out?, and perhaps a basic step by step how it comes apart.
Thanks
