What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Yesterday I used my m1028 to haul home my new m1009. It was a 400 mile round trip, I got about 13 mpg on the way there (total weight about 10,500lbs), and about 8mpg on the way back (weighing close to 17,000 lbs). The truck did surprisingly well towing it, going 55-57 no problem, and stopping...

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Changed out the cracked transfer case shift knob with one from a later Chevy pickup.

    Canadian security cages

Here's some more pics: The first is a Canadian International, the second is some Canadian m135's, the first has a field-modded cage, a few down the line also have cages. Here is an m925a2 that sold on GL a couple of weeks ago.

    Canadian security cages

I've heard they were used to lock up stuff like weapons/ammo and other important equipment. I don't think it would work good for prisoner transport, I'd bet it wouldn't take much to bust through the side of it. A local MV owner said they had cages like it on their stateside trucks in the 60's...

    Canadian security cages

If anyone has any pictures of the bow setup on the 1970s Canadian pickups that would be appreciated.

    Canadian security cages

Thanks for the info. I found that site during my extensive search, the cages are mentioned a few times. Looks like I'll need to sign up over there.

    Canadian security cages

Does anyone have any information about the aluminum security cages for the Canadian CUCV's or the earlier Canadian pickups? I've seen them on m135s, MLVWs, and 3/4 ton trailers but haven't seen any pics of the CUCV ones. I've got one that I was told came off a Canadian truck that I will be...

I've got some 7.00x16 NDCCs I was going to put on it, but unfortunately I will not be keeping it. I've bought too much stuff lately and would rather see this one go to someone who has the Jeep to tow it with. I'd rather have it been only painted yellow instead of modifying the frame or...

Picked up another 1/4 ton trailer, this time a super nice 1952 Strick m100. The rails are straight, no rust, no real dents, on good tires, and the floor is excellent. The yellow paint is peeling back to 24087 that looks like it could of been painted in the last year! The cap was attached with...

    Douglas to Packard Connector Fit?

Yes, the Packard cable should plug into the Douglas harness.

    M116 Series Trailers

The curved brake handles that operate side to side would indicate that it is an original m116 trailer, not an a1 model. Early m116s would have a light receptacle between the handles for a separate light cable. Later m116s (and m116a1s) have the light cable wired to the trailer through a...

vin help and picture of m37 coming off the island in maine

According to the VIN the truck should be a 1954. They didn't make m37s in 1957, and in 1958 the m37b1 was introduced.
