Before I bought the tool to remove them I used a piece of wire with a pice of good sticky chewing gum on the end, that worked pretty well, also some stiff grease may work. The tool was well worth the $70.

They had two 24v alt and a black box to run the 12/24 which gave problems. I had a M1010 and it is possible to outfit the back pretty well but the truck is fairly heavy and not sure how well it would do off road and the low gearing gets old fast.
They are not listed in the TM, and have never seen one. As far as I know the only factory mounted winch in cuurent times on a light vehicle was the hummer.

Sounds like an airleak as said before or you may have the old style(fuel)lift pump. The newer style has a check valve that won't allow fuel to drain back. Same for the older IP's, there is an article in the TM section that explains it.
