Help choosing the right lift kit parts.....

Oh okay I didn't know the shackle flips came in 2". I thought they were all 4" like everything else. Who makes the 2" shackle flip? And who makes a u bolt flip for a stock m1028 then?

Help choosing the right lift kit parts.....

I promise I read all I could about lift kits before starting another lift thread:drool:. I really didn't want to lift my M1028, but the front springs are shot. And I really should do the rear U-bolt flip as mine look a little scary. I only want to do a 2" lift which is proving difficult to find...

    M1009 temp gauge

One more thing I forgot to mention. Make sure to use gaskets and (thermostat housing gasket sealer), the normal sealer WILL FAIL!

    M1009 temp gauge

Yes it is direct bolt in. But before you install it, take it to the hardware store to get fit brass plugs for the bosses you won't be using.

    M1009 temp gauge

Well here's the part #12554091, but you may get better search results by just calling is "Hmmwv cooling crossover" or something similar. I bought mine on Ebay for about $60.00. there's a couple good ones on there right now between $40.00-$60.00

    M1009 temp gauge

yeah that's what I did at first too. The water pump boss is too cold and the dummy light boss on the head is too hot. It's simple, if you look at any new car their all mounted just behind the thermostat.

    Recent developments with the 1009.

I just went through all of this with my M1028. I replaced all the little sensors and posted there part numbers on here...http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?150291-Glow-plug-inhibitor-switch-temp-sensor-question and here...

    M1009 temp gauge

The hmmwv crossover is going to be the best spot to put it period + it gives you extra threaded bosses for electric fans and such. You can install the sensor in place of the dummy light sensor to get you by. But your only getting a reading from that 1 head. The only way to get a true (TOTAL)...

Glow plug inhibitor switch / temp sensor question

Well I got it in. It was really easy, you just have to make sure your 3/4", deep socket stays on the sensor and doesn't slide down to the adapter/spacer. But other then that it's a breeze. I thought I'd give a run down of all the part numbers for these sensors sense it took me several hours of...

Glow plug inhibitor switch / temp sensor question

Okay I think I found it now.. I did do a site search and that's how I found the part number. Which is #10045847, with pigtail #12101899. Now that I know where it is I'll fool with it today to see if I can make it fit. If you look a the pic it looks like there are a couple adapter fittings on...

Glow plug inhibitor switch / temp sensor question

So after chasing down my high idle problem by replacing both the high idle solenoid and the temp sensor. I decided to go ahead and replace the glow plug inhibitor / temp sensor located on the drivers side head. After much research I found out that a new one would be an updated version requiring...

    High idle solenoid acting up?

Okay so I think I've got the first problem whipped. I installed the new passenger side temp sensor for the high idle solenoid and it seems to be work perfectly for the past 4 days. Now I ordered this.. the glow plug inhibiter switch with the new pigtail. The problem is the one on the truck is a...

    Whats your favorite headlight?

Stock replacement halogen bulbs. They last just as long as any fancy new ones and can be bought at any auto parts store or walmart along the highway for a fraction of the cost of the fancy one you have to order. 2cents

    Washer fluid pump question.

Not to muddy the water, but the original mechanical pump just seemed a little mouse trappy to me. So I ordered one of these universal washer bottle kits off Ebay. It was really easy to install and it blasts the heck out of the windshield.

    High idle solenoid acting up?

I just ordered the high idol temp sensor and I figured I'd go ahead and order the temp sensor for the glow plug system as well. But the one I keep finding looks nothing like the one on my motor? The one I have looks just like the sensor for the idle, and the one their showing is long with a...

    High idle solenoid acting up?

Well I spoke too soon, I did the exact same thing this morning. Also It seems to be idling a little high and I noticed there's a flat head/nut on the end of the rod. Is this to adjust the idle?

    Thermostat issues.

If I recall I don't think it's possible to install them backwards? Most thermostats won't fit in the housing backwards. And yes the long side, or spring side goes towards the engine. Also I think I remember there being a discussion on here that the store bought ones were commonly problematic for...

    High idle solenoid acting up?

Well replaced the solenoid today and it seems to be working much better now. It goes into high idol much easier and stays there now. When I took the old one off all the guts were loose including the male plug coming out of it. Here's the technical name and part number for it if anybody needs...
