Wow. Lot of time and effort (and tires) went in to the 14 months you had it. I was hoping it might be re-united with it's brother at a show some time. I guess it'll be closer just not with someone I know.
Eastern Surplus has NOS condensors for around $400 (I believe) plus shipping. That's the last piece I need , oh and a truck, but I'm about set as well.
I was at Puke in the '80s. Different decade, same crappy place. I should have known it would be bad when there was a sign on the main road onto base that read "This is a substandard road. The State of LA is not responsible for damage to your vehicle."
Depends on how serious the transmission issue is. Price sounds decent especially for one already titled/licensed and something I'd be willing to pay. Going rate for a driver is that amount + fees/transportation costs and you still would have unknowns about mechanical issue possibilities.
Wish I'd sent the Goat over to you. Might have saved me a new engine :)
Mike - what's the plan for Mullins? I was going to let you drive the Goat but you can't have it all weekend.
I just got an email from Mullins about registering for the event. Have you guys done that in the past or just convoy over, park together and have an impromptu display?
It's not a matter of running but rather you'll go through batteries left and right. The one I had would cook the rear battery continuously (over charging) until I replaced the DUVAC with a battery equalizer (before m38inmaine came up with his change idea). It was an interesting vehicle but not...
A couple of those shots looked a lot like Idaho - until you see the Pinion Juniper everywhere. I showed the MRS so she'd be impressed with how our future truck will look in the mountains :)
I don't really think there is a problem with being prepared. I have most of the AC for a LMTV and no truck yet. When I do get one, though, I'll be able to have it cooled the same week I get it.
