I had the same problem with mine when I first bought the truck. It had a non functional universal solenoid on it. I changed GP's all fuel lines ,lift pump, and spin on filter mod till someone on here helped me find the problem. Any way it didn't fry the plugs or the card. My knowledge of...
HA! I just walked in the house from installing one:carnac:. I just bought ah cheap $18.00 Bosch from advanced. I plan on getting better ones later so this one will get me through till then. I just ran the line through the speedo cable grommet in the fire wall , to the unused port on the...
I've thought about trying these. Though they claim not to effect load capacity , I'm skeptical.http://www.sulastic.com/ You could also remove ah couple leafs out of the rear and install air bags for when you have a heavy load.
Agree with all the comments, But I'll have to say it's more like $2000.00 to $3000.00 if you really want a primary ,daily driver. For a first time buyer I recommend NOT buying one from GL. Instead buy a runner from ah guy that's already put the time and $$$ into getting drivable for you. Even...
The transfer case vent is a metal 90 degree tube coming out of the top of the tail shaft housing flange, with a 2" piece of rubber hose and a plastic check valve.
All good points, I'd like to add, that it's best to let the vehicle sit for 24 hours before you start it. This lets the RVT cure completely before putting pressure on it. And I'm sure with the cold weather up there it's taking much longer to cure.
My M1028 came with Goodyear workhorse Extra grip's on it. They've bin really good tires ,lots of grip. And strong enough sidewalls to carry heavy loads. They hold 65-PSIhttp://www.summitracing.com/parts/gdt-752937300
Jack the truck up and let the rear end hang down. This will give you the max amount of play, and allow you to turn the rear end yoke buy hand. I had to do this when I installed my Gear vendors as the GV slip yoke only has 5/8" travel. Thus not a lot of room to install the drive shaft. Cheers:beer:
On mine the needle was getting stuck down to the left. If I smacked it, it would come back to life. I was able to fix it by carefully taking it apart and bending the needle towards the glass.
Marcus wrote.........I have been reading this on several car forums. Sounds like their quality control hit the skids when they were bought out a few years ago. People who bought before that time rave about how great they are. People who bought after.... not so much.
Yeah I've had a red...
I haul oprox 2000LBS spread between the bed and my 5'X10' open trailer every month 75 miles to ATL. With the gear vendors I can usually stay above 65MPH up the hills. I find the brakes to be ah little scary in ATL traffic. But I think I can fix that with ah few upgrades.
I'm guna throw this out there:lol:. These trucks are not power houses. Buy going to a taller gear ,sure it'll drive better on the highway . But 1st & 2nd gear would be ah pig. And virtually useless as an off road vehicle at that point. They mite be fine if they were 500HP monsters but 165HP just...
I did the Gear Vendors in mine. After much debate I decided to go that route rather then the 700R4. The 700 would have been MUCH more complex to install and in the end not quite as tuff as the TH400. From what I've read the GV & 700R4 would have cost the same ( around #$3500.00 ) but with the...
The 6.2 debate was ah little too heated for this question so I thought I'd ask here . A few years back the motor oil companies (for whatever reason) stopped putting zinc in there oils. So anybody with an old muscle car with ah flat tappet cam now has to use zinc additives with every oil...
