The best receiver hitch for M1028

After much searching and ah few phone calls I think I found the right one? If anyone can please tell me if this would or wouldn't work I be thankful. http://www.etrailer.com/hitch-1984_Chevrolet_C%2FK+Series+Pickup.htm Its the first one (HDRH25122) for a "standard bumper or step bumper". Thanks

The best receiver hitch for M1028

I've bin over the archives and didn't find a definite answer to this. I plan on going to 33" tall tires as well as the spare tire. Can the spare tire holder hold a 33" tire? And or will the hitch also be in the way? Also I noticed there are hitches for "normal step bumpers" And "deep step...

    Snorkel idea

My high school job was working at ah Jiffy lube. Amongst other crazy stories from working there, we had ah little old lady DRIVE in one day that had poured one or more gallons of water into her crank case thinking it was the radiator. It was running rough, BUT it was running?:goodjob:. We...

Anybody know what these were for???

Well sense we're on this subject . I'm used to Chiltons and shop manuals that have an index and glossary. Compared to them I find these military manuals are tedious and hard to follow if you don't speak military lingo. And to address nchittendone's comment, This site is the ABSOLUTE bible for...

Anybody know what these were for???

Yeah M1028, There kinda rotted and mangled so it was hard to see how they would have functioned and my tailgate seems to be ah replacement. So I figured they mite have bin some sort of mesh tailgate or something.

Anybody know what these were for???

These brackets were mounted to the threshold of the bed corners. I removed them and install these D rings from Harbor Freight. I was just curious as to what they would be for?

How many of you use your cucv's everyday ?

I purchased mine about 4 months ago with the intent for it to be my only business vehicle. I've driven it every day. Including several 40 mile round trips and a 75 mile trip with it loaded with 2000lbs of steel....

What have you done to your CUCV today/lately - Part 2

Sorry let me clarify. It's not illegal to have a third brake light on the cab of any truck. Soo "IF", that's all he was stopped for then it's an unlawful stop. http://www.autotrucktoys.com/ford_truck/IPCW-Ford-F-Series-Mega-LED-Third-Brake-Light-PRD16624.aspx

Am I the only one with the wrong Mirror on my CUCV?

Wow I'm glad I read this thread. Mine also has the flat mirror in it. I added one of those small stick on fisheye mirrors as I have on all my big work truck ,but I was still having trouble seeing out of it. I thought it was just me getting old:drool:. So I will be changing it out to the...

    CUCV - Car hauler?

I can see that. The tough weight is the problem. So adding say a class 3 hitch would be the solution than.

    CUCV - Car hauler?

Please correct me if I'm missing somthing, but. These trucks are designed to tow each other ,correct? Add ah tow bar to the front of one CUCV and pull it with another. Essentially pulling a 6000lb trailer. His 2600lb mustang and trailer would only weigh about half that. So shouldn't it be no...

    CUCV - Car hauler?

Ironically, I also own ah M1028 and (2) 1966 mustangs. A fully optioned 65-66 mustang only weighs 2600lbs. Your 1009 should have no problem hauling this around.

    Saggy door?

Are the hinge pins worn? Open the door about ah foot and lift it. If it rattles then you know you have lose/worn hinge pins.
