I guess I'm just looking for the convenience of having these tools ready to go if and when I would need them. I would only use these on occasion, but it would be for hard work. The saw would need to be able to cut through several 3" X 24" X 20' wood planks. And the impact would only be used...
I'm ah Makita man myself. I've used there brand for well over 20 years now. I'm currently using the 18V (lithium-ion) ,(brushless) hammer drill and impact. These brushless motor tools last for ah full day of heavy use on one charge. Although the impact is very useful, it couldn't crack ah lug...
Golden,As have I. I've used cordless drills and impacts in my business for over 20 years. And yes there are some cordless impacts and skill saws that work pretty good, for short periods of time. But not as good as one's you plug in. If I could plug one into my truck I could run it all day, and...
I read somewhere on line that you can run AC power tools off the 24V slave port. Now I'm NO expert on electrical ,but how can ah 120V tool run on 24V?? Is this complete B.S. ? Could or would you wire in a power inverter to run say ah impact or skill saw? And if so what power inverter would run...
Update, I was packing these things with all the crap from inside the cab and I can up with this idea I thought I'd share. The main box is of course 20mm ammo can. I made myself a furniture touch up kit using a 50 cal box. Then I made a smaller tool kit using a 5.56 box. As you can see in the pic...
HA!:D yeah I'll agree I didn't want to be "That ammo can guy" . But I had the cans before I had the truck. And in the end I had to relent to the fact that they were the only thing that was going to work for my needs. I need to have the full length and width of the bed to fit both my steel, and...
I've bin contemplating what tool boxes will work for my needs on this truck. A traditional "back of the cab" box would be in the way of loading my 10' bundles of steel . So I've bin shopping for boxes that mount to the sides. But there all either too bulky and stick out too far into the bed, or...
1986-M1028, I'm at $2000.00 for repairs so far (mostly rubber parts) for ah running driving truck without needing tires. Probably about another $1000.00 for interior trim and rubber gaskets, then I can smooth and paint the exterior $$?? This all not including the upgrades I have done, and will...
Finally got ah pic of the new 4" aluminum driveshaft. I got ah pretty good price on it ,$366.00 from driveline service of atlantahttp://www.drivelineserviceofatlanta.com/
Well I've bin locked out of this site for the past week after getting ah new router , but charter just left and here I am again[thumbzup]. Got my new aluminum drive shaft installed the other day and have put about 350 miles on the truck sense. Works really good ! although I had one problem with...
I bought it new from GV ,about $3200.00 so far. I'm having an aluminum driveshaft made for around $350.00. From what I understand these new ones are stronger and have better electronics then the previous ones
Well thanks for the responses but as it turns out I didn't comprehend what I was reading in the instructions. You have to put the coupler on ,Then put your straight edge on it to measure. I was measuring without the coupler on.. I did have ah problem with the top left bolt hole on the...
According to the instructions from GV you have to (shim the coupler) between the output shaft and the GV unit itself. To measure you put ah straight edge against the back of the adapter and measure how many shims it will take to get 0.0" to 0.35" gap. My shaft would take 1-1/8" !! Am I missing...
So I went ahead and cut the drop of the steps buy an inch. Doesn't sound like much but it makes ah big difference in the look. Much cleaner looking I think. Now I just need to find some 2" stock to make the step platforms, finish the ends, and fab up some brackets.
