Well Fate is kicking me in the Goat-nads again. Thought I could borrow an appropriately sized torque wrench but struck out. Then I went to Northern Tool hoping to get a cheap, one use model. All of theirs in 150# plus were sold out (and not cheap). And I'm not paying for a decent wrench that...
I'm going to try Tom's suggestion and retorque all the head bolts today to see if that does anything. I'm getting tired of sitting on this and not getting anything done.
Edit: On hold again. Got the valve cover off and discovered my torque wrench only goes to 150 (Goat head is 170-180). Need...
I think the Topeka convention this year would have been about as close as we could have gotten. Of course my trailer was full of AMGeneral's tires at that point so I couldn't have brought the Goat.
Well since it doesn't look like anyone has sent out the reminder I guess I better. Saturday (yes THIS Saturday) is the monthly get together at the Mustang Club's cruise in. Be there or be somewhere else.
Welcome from the Bulverde/Spring Branch area! Glad we finally got a LMTV in the area. There's a bunch of SS members that try to get together the 2nd Saturday each month on the NW side (near The Rim) at the Mustang Club's monthly cruise in. We usually get as much, or more, attention than the...
Started at the plug and this was at the right tail light (so the end of the line of course). The trailer manufacturer torch drilled holes going rearward than welded washers on the frame going across the trailer to run the wires through. No relief from chafing at all. Hopefully this will...
I've been having a lot of troubles with the lights on the trailer used to haul the Goat. Things started going hinky on the way back from the MVPA convention in June and just got worse to the point that everything stopped working. Then I couldn't even use the magnetic lights I have and thought...
Hendrix on 281. They worked on my 1009 when I lost a drive shaft. I was driving down the road when it dropped and just put it in 4 HI and leaked a trail of tranny fluid into their driveway.
I'm thinking the guy on the back is lucky he wasn't killed. Once he was down it would have been awfully easy to get thrown over the side and under a track.
If you do a search on eBay for Gama Goat there is an outfit that sells a lot of Goat parts. They are very good about trying to locate items if you give them the part number. Some things they have and some they don't but it's worth a shot checking with them.
Actually turned out to be around 0930 this morning. Brandon got his trailer tires taken care of this morning, we got the Goat tires loaded, a GP Medium (which was harder to load than the tires), and pointed him East. Hopefully he dumped Murphy off in Houston with all the traffic yesterday and...
I would have said "move to a state like Texas that let's you register them" but it's a better idea to stay there and fight the governmental over reach. If enough people would do that, like GA did, maybe we can overpower petty little bureaucrats that think no one can decide what's best for you...
I have to say the tractor looks kind of "naked" without the fenders. Let me know where you source the engine parts. As soon as I can find someone to do it I'm in for a complete overhaul.
